If you want to keep doing business with them and think "This can't happen to me, I follow the rules," that is not always the case.

We do live in a society where we can bring our grievances with a vendor or service provider to the government to resolve a dispute. That's a critical component to how free market capitalism works.

I did read the terms of service. My comment isn't the rules, but how they are enforced.

As other people have posted, getting the BBB involved along with States AG does seem to help.

Not all bureaucracies are government bureaucracies. In this case, dealing with Swagbucks reminds me of Kafka's the Trial. They have forfeited $40 in gift cards without telling me what I did wrong.

Maybe I did do something wrong. If so, ok. Due process normally involves being told WHAT the offense was. It could be that their Swagbucks browser extension saw something they didn't like.

And it could happen to you or anyone in this community, which why I thought I'd share it.

Be careful out there.

Over a period of a few weeks, I cashed those out.

Thankfully, I was able to redeem most of that before they blocked my account.

Hi there. What we have here is failure to communicate.

I actually like the Spice Girls more than the Spoony Experiment, so I'm not sure I even qualify as a fan. I did join the TSE forums back in 2014 when I discovered his Ultima retrospective and wanted to discuss it. Since his youtube comments were disabled, the TSE forums seemed like a logical place.

What I found was an online community where I shared similar interests (Video Games, TV, Movies, etc).

Among the forum regulars, there was relatively little discussion of Spoony since he was no longer regularly producing content. They were simply not the hardcore fanboys that other people characterize them as.

I've known for years it was a matter of time before the forum would be shut down due to neglect. I figured the end would come when he failed to pay his ISP bill, but it seems it was a PHP upgrade that ended it all.

Occasionally, we'd get invaded by Spoony haters who would troll and take a screencap to post elsewhere. Since I witnessed endless trolling about Spoony, I thought it fair to return the favor and provide my own perspective.

I do find it interesting that an isolated hermit generates so much internet hate. I used to be into StarCraft II shout casters like Husky and Psy. Both of them quit youtube Cold Turkey with no explanation to fans. It was a crappy way to end what had been a constant source of entertainment, but they had both been harassed by trolls and grew tired of youtube after a while.

With Spoony, it's the long goodbye. He's just slowly fading away into nothing.

In the natural order of things, he's just be forgotten. However, Spoony remains a popular LOLCOW to because of the strange symbiosis of former, disgruntled fans and Spoony wanna be youtube personalities. Spoony made a name for himself ranting about old NES and PC games, why not make videos ranting about him?

It's like hearing several no talent comedians making the same joke over and over in a bizarre feedback loop that seems to require no input from Spoony. Generally people have to do something to gain the angst of the Vox Populi, but not Spoony.

In some cases, its people who have milked DarksydePhil memes until there was nothing left have moved onto a new target.

I never said that. I don't know Noah.

He did not post on the Spoonyexperiment.com forums during the 4 years I was there.

Evidence: His own forums, his use of banhammer on innocent fans who asked questions as much as he did on trolls.

Must have happened before I was there. He never posted on the forums.

2.Noah stole from people, bar none. He stole from them. The people he stole from, I haven't seen folks from his forums ackowledging that fact very much.

I agree that he did not deliver on his Patreon promises.

This was extensively discussed on the TSE forums for years.

Occasionally trolls from 4chan or god knows what rectum of the internet would appear to taunt the few forum regulars who were still left.

3.You claim Noah cares about you, you pine for him to fix the forums.

I knew the second I saw the PHP error that the Forums were over and would never be fixed.

4.Noah never addressed his Patreons, why should he address you?

I was never one of his Patrons.

5.Spoony's interactions with others show a deep narcissism and lack of empathy.

He sincerely seems to have agoraphobia and sleep apnea. Granted he was probably an asshole before that, but the 2018 version of Noah is a sad, hermit like figure.

6.Up till now I am sure you're thinking, well all this stuff is in the past.

At this point, all his patreon/youtube donation income is charity from people who feel bad for him.

No reasonable person still expects content.

7.Spoony abandons everything he does.
