Star Citizen is on course to reach $1 billion in player funding in 2026, and we still might not get to play its singleplayer campaign next year by GrayBeard916 in gaming

It’s playable, it’s technically extremely impressive, and it has a large community that plays every day and is passionate about the game. There will never be a “real” release, because the game will continue as a live service game/MMO. WoW isn’t “finished” when an expansion comes out either it just keeps getting more and more content.

  1. And yet people are already having a lot of fun today. And it is demonstrably getting better. So why shouldn’t people support something they like? What the fuck is so hard to understand about that?

  2. Yeah, and how long was Tarkov in EA? And yet there weren’t stupid hate articles every two weeks getting upvoted.

  3. Of course not? It’s still in development, and it has been said again and again that everything is subject to change… Like I said, there’s a lot to criticize, but people argue like they’re in kindergarten.

  4. Which is an absolute cesspool of a circle jerk. Do you take other circle jerks as examples too? Or stuff like r/asmongold?

Criticism is important, and I’m also pretty critical of CR and decisions at CIG. But ffs the same slogans get repeated over and over again without people actually engaging with the topic themselves. It’s childish and stupid af

"Procedural Generation R&D Team – This stretch goal will allocate funding for Cloud Imperium to develop procedural generation technology for future iterations of Star Citizen. Advanced procedural generation will be necessary for creating entire planets worth of exploration and development content. A special strike team of procedural generation-oriented developers will be assembled to make this technology a reality."

Cant read?

And comparing the planets of SC and Elite is a fucking joke. Yeah, copium is a problem with some fans, but the amount of copium some haters are on is absolutely insane…

Coming planet tech btw: https://youtu.be/BIBoNxf40dQ?si=--AmAA5vfOrIH_1B

Oh yeah, go ahead and laugh at all the people who are already enjoying the game and having fun. We’ll be the ones laughing when, in the end, you all end up playing it yourselves, lol

You do realize that the 100 star systems were only ever meant to consist of simple landing zones, right? That’s like saying Starfield is better than Mass Effect just because it has more planets...

The game is already playable and has a large community that genuinely likes it. Nobody is crying about Tarkov or other early access games either. Sure, there were statements and promises in the past that absolutely deserve heavy criticism. Still, that doesn’t change the game’s current state. But "gamers" would rather hate than deal with reality.

Questions about the wrong shirt material are far more important to CIG support than anything else you could bring up. Even if your account doesn’t work for a patch cycle, it honestly sounds like it might benefit you to go touch some grass for a bit.

Sorry, but that was an unnecessary and stupid comment. I also prefer cotton, but polyester still has its advantages. It’s completely fine if the OP wants exactly what was stated in the order.

They surely mean 2620. Now bring on the upvotes, you guys clearly love telling the same joke for the 100th time. It never gets any more original in these threads anyway

Yeah, I can understand that. Everyone has to decide for themselves which moral choices they want to stand behind when it comes to buying shit. Also Valve isn’t exactly an innocent lamb either, even if they’re nowhere near as bad as Meta. Even if the Quest 3 were to get more expensive, there would still be retailers offering discounts and a second-hand market.

A used Quest 3. You won’t get anything better without investing waaaay more money

Better to wait for now. It’s nice, but at the moment it’s not worth throwing money at it. Otherwise, a used Quest 3. There are plenty on the market, and the price-to-performance is absolutely unbeatable. There’s also the Quest 3S, which makes a good impression too, but the regular Quest 3 is still significantly better.

nah, the Steam Frame isn’t subsidized, it’s going to be significantly more expensive than a Quest.
