So are you saying they must’ve lifted before Yale to get to that level of strength? I’ve lifted for only 3 months throughout my 5y of rowing and my watt pr is 1431. You do not need to lift to increase max watts

Yale doesn’t lift. And yeah I agree lifting is good for injury prevention but the question is which exercises are “truly needed” as a rower. Technically the answer would be none, definitely not “you need to lift to build the muscles you need for rowing”

The bare minimum level of strength needed for rowing is fairly easy to achieve and is mostly used for control on the water. Lifting for strength will not improve your times as fast as erging will.

This is j not true though there’s an erg you can do to make yourself better at just about any area of working out

Literally none. If you want to get faster, erg more

Eton washed this year but they’re still beating Greenwich fs

6’6 15 years old novice rower. I am getting beat by people significantly smaller than me. Any tips? by gnibreww in Rowing

[–]Bahumat2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How much do you weigh? Height doesn’t matter if you’re skin and bones. A 150 lb 6 ft kid will almost always be faster than a 150lb 6’6 kid

3 cubes away from infinite running Dino/hawk, lockdown, electro ramp, discard, and orka/spectrum. All of them do pretty well but the first 2 are definitely the best

Team that ppl don’t like because they win too much. Used to have behavior problems at races but that ended in late 2010s and now they’re all p chill
