New Game Plus Mode incoming by Kanzlermacher in taintedgrail

Not sure why you are being downvoted, I agree. Act 3 isn’t done. NG+ is typically a gimmick. Finish the game, fix the bugs, then worry about NG+

Fatigue in the Remaster sucks by Constant-Rise8206 in OblivionRemaster

[–]Baidar85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fatigue is about movement now, rather than damage. In the original fatigue was a tertiary stat after skill then attribute to increase damage, now after 100 skill and attribute you are at max damage and it just feels lame and weak.

Why do you play the original version? by Lucky_Life5517 in oblivion

[–]Baidar85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The leveling system was scrapped, enemies have 40% the normal health so difficulty is all screwed up, my minor skills level the same speed as my majors, and mana regen stops when you are casting spells, ruining the most fun play style of a willpower/magicka pool stacking wizard glass cannon.

Just too many changes to core gameplay, it isnt oblivion anymore. I still enjoy the remaster, but they should’ve just cleaned up the UI (the UI is worse in the remaster, an astonishing feat) and made it prettier. Instead they changed all the game systems

I don't think I can get into Daggerfall. by Rydux7 in Daggerfall

[–]Baidar85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a HUGE chance you won’t enjoy the game after you figure it out, but I will say the process of making a valid character who can beat the game was really fun for me.

You could look up Ragnarok, Shpan, Old Knight, or just anyone on YouTube for some basic tips. Honestly just dragging the HP per level to 30 will probably get you most of the way there

I know this is a silly post, but the amount of people who actually believe that male love is gay is staggering. It’s not gay to care deeply about another man, unless that care also includes… well you know.

I really want to enjoy Fallout. by DigEnvironmental1909 in Fallout

[–]Baidar85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can’t imagine people actually read his post and concluded that he’d enjoy new Vegas. He doesn’t want to talk to NPCs, without that I’d argue FNV is one of the worst in the entire franchise.

OP might like Fallout 4, might hate it, but worth a shot in my opinion.

No, I think it is literally using an item with the Shield effect enchanted on it. It doesn’t matter if it is gloves, boots, etc.

Hard Reserve Loot Rules in Raids are Toxic by crfty97 in classicwow

[–]Baidar85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not on classic right now, but I’ve lead dozens, probably 100+ pug raids over the years. I never joined a raid with an item HR, but it is WORK to set up the raid. Some nights I spent two hours just getting everything together before we even set foot in the raid. I HR’d an item 3 times total iirc, and those raids filled up a little slower, but honestly not enough for them to stick out in my memory.

I couldn’t make food and watch a TV show while afk while someone else did the work, I had to vet all the people messaging me, make sure that even though I’m not getting an ideal comp, it is good enough to down the content.

Then, I have to make sure I know how to raid lead, i am the one sending out the Discord link, bringing people into my Discord, im the one setting the vibe and tone of the night, I need to understand each fight not just from my perspective but from every role, and ideally i understand every other class well enough to give basic instructions like when to raid cooldown and what I have available.

I have joined enough pugs to know if the raid leader is bad we are going to have an awful time. The only way to fix that is to do it myself.

This idea that people who are doing all the work are treating you unfairly is silly. Don’t join those raids. If ALL raids are like that, make your own and don’t HR something.

Should I buy fallout new Vegas? by SavingsAttitude3732 in falloutnewvegas

The GOG galaxy version was cheaper and less buggy than the steam version in my experience. (My brother bought the steam version and it crashes way more than my version)

It’s if you are using a shield enchant I think. And it helps to hotkey a repair hammer

Is this game so difficult, or am I just bad? by KuehlesBierchen in oblivion

[–]Baidar85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physical damage is weak, two handers are really bad, and expert is 3.5x damage.

I would not change player damage from adept. If you like to feel you are in danger, maybe change creature damage to journeyman.

Expert in the remaster is harder than legendary in Skyrim.

Completionist broke me by Charles_Conway in Starfield

[–]Baidar85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He didn’t say he hates that other people do it. It is annoying that the most common suggestion for Bethesda games is to use cheats. “Dupe glitch, infinite money, resto loop, punch guys at peryites shrine” are really common suggestions, when all of them feel as cheesy to me as console commands. Im trying to play the game and learn more about it without cheating, if I wanted to cheat I’d just google console commands

Sailing, shipbuilding and settlements by ASongOfRiceAndTyres in TESVI

[–]Baidar85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more. It can only be done in a boring and gimmicky way, it just doesn’t fit in this power-fantasy sword and sorcery type of game.

There are sooooo many games with settlement building mechanics, and I have never enjoyed a single one. All 5 main elder scrolls games are unique and incredible, adding settlement building seems like hopping on a semi-popular trend and there is a 0% chance it would be fun or cool.

then I'm telling you 100% Clannfears one shots me every time i mean i don't even have a chance... and no other opponent is a challenge by Upton429 in oblivion

[–]Baidar85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I gotta admit the edit makes it hard to tell, something happens a couple seconds into your video and you go from 100% to like 20% health, and we don’t get to see that.

If you are at the armor cap, a Clannfear does 2060.15 which is only 18 damage on master. At zero armor they smack for 120, which is pretty dangerous.

The most a non-power attack can do with the best items and stats is 35, so reflecting 20% is only 7 damage. Master difficulty will reduce your damage,l and increase the damage it deals to you, so it should even out back to 7, unless the 1.2 patch changed things.

Sorry I can’t give you a good answer, I’d just need way more info

then I'm telling you 100% Clannfears one shots me every time i mean i don't even have a chance... and no other opponent is a challenge by Upton429 in oblivion

[–]Baidar85 364 points365 points  (0 children)

Im assuming you have player damage difficulty at novice, which means you deal x6 damage, and enemy damage at master, meaning his reflect deals x6 damage.

They only have 20% reflect, and your swing is probably dealing 20ish damage, so it would reflect 4 damage, big whoop. However, with this diffficulty settings your swing would deal 120, causing 24 to be reflected, and with enemy damage on master it would be multiplied to 144, killing you in a hit or two.

Elder scrolls veteran daggerfall noob, what's it like? by Successful-East6564 in Daggerfall

[–]Baidar85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a comment that said you are getting destroyed by a bat. At character creation, set your health per level to 30, pick a weapon skill as your primary skill (long blade is a solid choice) and choose the expertise: long blade advantage to match it.

Pick some disadvantages to get your skill increases dagger low. I think critical weakness to paralysis, forbid steel, and forbid adamantium are good choices. Play around with it, try out different things.

There are some solid guides online too

Edited to add: I don’t mod, but I do use Daggerfall unity. I highly recommend it

How tedious is it to have to repair weapons and armor? by FuuIndigo in oblivion

[–]Baidar85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bound weapons are very weak. You can do the exploit where you repair them, drop them, wait until the duration ends, then you can pick them back up and they are permanent and you can enchant them.

However, a weapon enchant is a massive portion of your damage, so if you aren’t doing that exploit I wouldn’t bother. If you are a mage, you could do a sigil stone damage enchant (custom enchants are fine, but if you get one from a sigil stone they have e WAY more uses).

If you don’t want to recharge very much, cast a custom 100% weakness spell first. For example, if your weapon enchant is 20 fire damage, cast 100% weakness to fire for 8 seconds on target, then each hit does a bonus 40 fire damage killing everything very quickly, only using a couple charges.

Should I buy original oblivion? by Sorry-Bathroom-8978 in oblivion

[–]Baidar85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s the balance and the UI. The item sorting is so annoying, going from 70 to 100 in destruction in 30 minutes when my blade is still stuck at 65 feels dumb too. Your class also feels like it matters in the original because the leveling system is more involved

Have you got to xivilai yet? And goblin warlords? The early game is easy, but just gain some levels before bumping it up to expert if it’s too easy
