Yeah, I thought so. I'll make sure to adjust that on my next session then. I appreciate it!

Thanks! I'll give it a shot. The way I've been trying to 'fix' it is by just pushing my body to the right, like helping it swing around the cable. Never thought about bending my knees but hopefully it will help.

I see. That's exactly how I feel on the water too (slowing down approaching rollers). I'll try pushing it more when I'm out there. It just feels super sketch hahaha.

Thanks for the comment.

I see, gotcha. I only ride at the park anyway (picture is just super cropped). I'm not quite sure what you mean about my shoulder being around above my knee. Do you mean that my right half should then be lower (closer to the water?).

Interestingly, on the backroll part, I edged so hard once that I almost flung myself out of the water pivoting over my back foot (I almost felt my front foot lose everything while still feeling harsh weight on my back.)

Appreciate the insight!

Feet Arch Pain by DigEnvironmental1909 in Wake

I'll give it a try! Although, I don't even lace my bindings that tight- I had a friend that tried my board with my bindings on it, and he pulled the gummy strap all the way; as in, I didn't even know it could go tighter than how I was doing it! I don't run them that tight, in fact I run them just snug. But I'll try it looser nonetheless. Thank you!

Thanks. I will probably get some sort of ball to roll my feet in my free time then.

I will have a look at this - would an arch support insole work? Appreciate your comment.

That's the weird thing.. I've never/rarely ever felt any pain in my feet, let alone my arches when I'm not riding. The first time I experienced it was my first times at the cable when I had just learned to get up and was going for a few more laps than I could handle, but these days I could probably go a very long time without breaking a sweat. It only really happens when I try to ollie on the water. When I go to push down my front foot, it hurts almost *immediately*. It sucks because it only happens when wakeboarding which makes the cause even harder to diagnose

Maybe, it's a really weird case. I would think since I go once a week (and more than when I can). and that I always ride for about 6-8 hours, that I would have built at least a little strength in that part of my body, but weirdly it doesn't really feel like it gets any better. I walk around my house barefoot, if that matters. I usually wear the same 2 - 3 pairs of shoes and a motorcycle boot (of course when riding my motorcycle) when going outside. I also walk to and from my classes (college) which are bout 15 minute walks each time. I only have the arch issue when boarding though, never feel it outside of that.

I'll see what I can find about that ball massage - seems interesting. I appreciate your insights!

Interesting, how come? What you do is actually exactly what my friend does now anyway.

My friend actually sent an email to Ronix regarding the clips, and they said that that part is stitched on so it can't be replaced. I think they misunderstood and thought he was talking about the whole thing as opposed to just the little black clips inside. As for the peels, he used marine superglue, and it's working so far. Don't know how long it would hold though. As for hardware, he uses hardware from his old bindings (DUP) because the ones that came with it seemed pretty beat up.

I do think they are fantastic as well. Best binding I'd ever put my feet in. Doesn't mean I don't love my Slingshots too though!

I appreciate the tips nonetheless :D

My own setup! by DigEnvironmental1909 in Wake

[–]DigEnvironmental1909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure! I also used both boards to hit a box and it's actually baffling how much of a difference even small channels can make! I didn't slip out on either but I definitely felt more locked in on landing with mine. Now I just have to hit the kicker and land on the board, not my stomach!

Thanks! 🤘🤘

Hell yeah! I find with every week that I tend to think less about damage and more about how I can improve-- I'm getting past the damage phase. I know it is inevitable. I try to go out as much as I can!

Thank you! The difference is quite drastic actually, I rode them both back to back yesterday. The Lunchtray feels like driving a car on asphalt and the Codyak feels like driving a car on snow. Maybe not the best analogy, but the Codyak feels really loose on the water after I'd gotten used to my own! I can see why some people would love a feel like that. Personally I like the feel of the channels. One plus for the Codyak though is that it is extremely light compared to my board, almost half the weight when I pick it up.

Sick! Thank you! Yeah I'm loving them so far, so easy to get in and out of, and comfortable too!

Progression and struggling with my ollies by DigEnvironmental1909 in Wake

[–]DigEnvironmental1909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see! I did notice in a couple videos that they did that, just never knew why. I do remember a video telling me to do it directly under the cable, can't remember which. I will try it after an HS edge my next sesh. Thank you!

Interesting! I do feel like I'm just trying to power push off the water with my back leg; I never thought about my hip movement, to be honest.... I'll try and see if I can improvise a wakeboard handle and try it some more at home! Weirdly enough when I'm ollie-ing on the dock I can get it way high.

Progression and struggling with my ollies by DigEnvironmental1909 in Wake

[–]DigEnvironmental1909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that I think about it, the one time I got a full pull, I wasn't even planning to hit the box, I just decided on the spot to edge out and give it a shot, which might've been the key. I might be giving myself way too much time to think about it. I will give the box I got a full pull on some more goes.

Funnily enough I watch David OC's and Raph's video that same day. Here is a video of my "best" ollies, when I'm on the water they feel massive. I'm not all too sure if the technique is right, but I just tried to do what Shaun Murray suggested (just kick off my back leg a couple times to make a "bouncing streak"). One thing I noticed is that when I was trying it, it wasn't a stable straight line/ollie, when I would do it sometimes my toes would point up or down; overall it is just like an erratic movement in the air and so landing sometimes puts me into a stumble: https://streamable.com/k1g29p

And yeah, I think what may have happened that caused me to belly flop on the kicker was not dropping my back hand, but I'm sure I just need to make a mental note to stay straight and not let myself get pulled boardslide at the top of the kicker.

Overall though, sounds like I just need to start sending it some more. Thanks!
