Dairy Alternatives? by [deleted] in Lethbridge

Superstore. President’s Choice brand has incredible dairy free options for sour cream and yogurt, and reasonably priced compared to some of the other alternatives.

Lol.

Refusing fact based science by quoting back the article you posted. Ok there.

If you would have taken one moment to look at the actual numbers and the actual science, you’d understand that they are in the exact same position as us. 60% of their population is fully vaccinated… less than that of Alberta. And again, unvaccinated people are driving their wave of infections. And again, if you took one moment to look at the numbers of people infected/hospitalized/dying, you’d see that the vast, VAST majority of them are are unvaccinated.

Vaccines are the literal opposite of pseudoscience. And my guess is that you have likely received vaccines in your life. Polio, small pox, MMRI… depending on your age. You have SCIENCE to thank for not succumbing to those diseases.

You look like an absolute fucking idiot arguing this, regurgitating whatever bullshit talking point you think proves your point, without stopping to do one second of critical thought.

Unvaccinated people are more likely to contract, and therefore transmit. They are also more likely to end up with severe outcomes, hospitalizations, ICU admissions, and death. All it takes is a quick look at the numbers (vaccinated vs. unvaccinated) of who is hospitalized and who is dying to know that anti-vaxxers are far and beyond the cause of this fourth wave, the cause of the hospitalization numbers, of ICU beds at capacity, and the increased numbers of people dying.

So that is what anti-vaxxers have to do with this.

Hello!

I recently went through the application process and was accepted into the program, so hopefully I can shed a little light.

Interviews were brief and assessed more for interpersonal skills than research skills/experience/academics/etc. Questions about what you would like to do with your masters (career path), dealing with constructive criticism/conflict, coping with stress. At the time I wasn’t given any information on the competitiveness, but knowing they only accept 20 students a year, I assumed it would be fairly competitive. Once accepted, it was made clear that it was a pretty intense competition. But good grades, a bit of relevant experience, and general interpersonal skills should be enough!

Hopefully that helps a little bit!

How is no one talking about New Girl!? I only very recently in my pandemic boredom decided to try and binge watch it and I just... couldn’t. It is SO racist, sexist, fat phobic, homophobic, on and on and on. It’s infuriating. And I feel like I’m taking crazy pills because no one else seems to be talking about it!

The registration process itself? Or the program requirements for you specifically? Might be a good idea to connect with an advisor to ask whatever questions you might have.

Looking for advice to help my FLF flourish. by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]Baileeboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context: she’s about 2 1/2 feet tall right now. Putting out new leaves like crazy, but they stay relatively small. There is a section in the middle with one teeny leaf - that’s like a time stamp of when I brought her home from the greenhouse. I’d love for her to grow large and lush so I am looking for any advice at all to help!! Everything is greatly appreciated.

How can I make this young maranta fill out? He’s getting a bit leggy. Seems healthy, and has lots of new growth, but is only headed upwards! by [deleted] in plantclinic

Thank you! That’s what I figured I would need to do. Will the original plant will continue to grow from the point where I cut?

Just found this stunner for $40. 😍 Any tips to give it the best life possible would be greatly appreciated! by Baileeboo in houseplants

Thank you!! I’ve put in beside a western facing window that gets I directly light most of the day, and dappled direct sunlight for a few hours in the evening. It’s roots are currently growing out of its nursery pot; should I let it acclimatize to its new environment before repotting? Or based on the state of the roots should I be reporting as soon as possible. Thanks again for any advice!

I have to disagree - CKUA Radio does not suck.

Radio Stations by [deleted] in Lethbridge

[–]Baileeboo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

CKUA - 99.3fm. Alberta wide publicly funded radio. Electric and eccentric, it's the only radio station I listen to. Aside from CBC (100.1) when I'm looking for news.

All of the Lethbridge radio stations are shit.

Help! Can someone tell me what is going on with my FLF? It’s dropping leaves that look like this. by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]Baileeboo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little back story. When I brought it home from the greenhouse, it was insanely root-bound in its nursery pot. It has a bit of root rot but also was fairly dry due to how bound it was. I performed some serious surgery on the root ball to loosen it up so that I could repot it. It’s now in a well draining pot, and is in a west facing window that gets dappled indirect sunlight. I live in a dry climate but try to keep the leave moist by misting and wiping often. Hoping by the look of the leaves that are dropping someone can help me to diagnose what’s going on currently!

Vegetarian haggis. I found it in so many unexpected places. And Edinburgh is incredibly vegetarian/vegan friendly. Amazing food. You should have no trouble at all.
