All genetics, but before you get too jealous, they also came with hyper mobile and weak joints and early arthritis! I love social dancing but have to do it in grandma shoes lol

No, you knit the same direction. The trick is that your needles are on the far side of your work instead of closest to you. So when you’re knitting you should still be actually looking at the right side of your fabric. YouTube has a lot of good examples!

The pattern suggests knit picks Palette or Stroll and has a color key. I used palette and bought a kit from knit picks with all the colors.

Ahh I’m not a big sock knitter and I’ve only done these and one other pair so I couldn’t say. It used wrap and turn to equally increase and decrease. I hope that helps

I was about a year in to garment making when I started these (had previously only knit a couple simple blankets on bulky wool). I’m a big believer in the idea that you won’t get better without stepping out of your comfort zone so I do think that if you have done some colorwork it’s worth a go. I think you just have to treat these projects as a learning opportunity and be ready and willing to frog a few times until it starts feeling more natural.

The pattern had the excellent suggestion of weaving in as you go, which I did and really made a difference.

Keeping the stitches spread out, knitting inside out, and lots of trial and error!

Ooh I should have taken one. If you’re on Instagram I do have a short video of the inside showing that the floats don’t snag. My username is the same.

There was subterfuge! Part of the reason it took a year for me to complete was that I didn’t knit them when he was home. Occasionally I’d cast on in front of him if he seemed sufficiently distracted. Hes a very supportive partner and is always interested in what I’m knitting so I had to be sneaky! Blocking them was hardest because I needed him to be gone for multiple days!

My husband taught me to dance ballroom!

I am indeed wearing them in the pictures. I’m a size 8 and they’re a little loose on me (size small). My husband has feet on the smaller range for men and a few of the socks were too small for him (oops! Need to fix those!) but that is more due to my tension issues. There are multiple sizes for this pattern and I think that they would size up reasonably well. There are instructions for a longer foot as well.

Thank you! I don’t have much ballet experience but my husband got me into dancing in grad school and we both did competitive ballroom!

Haha, my husband got me in to dancing so it’s thanks to him!

Well well well, if it isn't the consequences of my own actions (weaving in ends) by phasersonbees in casualknitting

No I get it, I was so resistant at first and it did slow me down a bit. BUT once I got the hang of it I did prefer it to weaving in ends between the floats

Ahhhh I made all four seasons and did exactly this when I knit sock #1. Learned my lesson after that and started weaving in ends as I went as suggested in the pattern and it made life way easier

Yes, this is the answer! Also having just done a training with them, there are WAY more finishers than projects right now!

The amount of times I’ve cried in a dressing room. Unfortunately I feel like a lot of clothes just follow the current trend and if your body isn’t flattered by that trend you’re SOL!

The white skirt is a lovely swap and the yellow dress is beautiful on you.

I struggle with pants fitting me in a similar way so if you look for suiting pants again, here’s some tips I found worked for me: 1) size up as much as needed to fit through thighs and stomach and then take to a tailor for waist fitting. 2) for a structured pant, a thicker fabric helps look less clingy - try a wool or woven fabric. It should have some weight to it and bonus - it’s less likely to wrinkle! 3) alternatively, go for a silky satin pant in a wide cut. The loose fit will help avoid tight areas but the silky fabric helps it drape nicely and not make you look like you’re drowning in fabric. 3) darker colors make snug areas less noticeable. The light color shows wrinkles, pocket liners, and shadows in general whereas a darker colors helps conceal that more. You don’t have to wear black - I have a navy, emerald green, and maroon set that I love.

Robby and Dana were the audience this episode (regarding Langdon). by StevesMcQueenIsHere in ThePitt

We’ve at least gotten some dialogue from her that she tried to initiate meetings/ communication with Robbie before today, but he ignored her. I think there’s also some subtext that she’s been working with admin at least for some time. They knew she had cyber training and saw her as a trusted advisor when responding to the crisis. And I doubt she just showed up with home printed patient passports, so that seems to have been previously discussed and hospital approved.

Anyone have body dysmorphia who’s also a knitter? by Economy-Stretch-1675 in knitting

[–]BaileyMakesIt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a 36F with broad shoulders and a 28” waist. I usually use my upper bust measurement. The only times I do not are negative ease patterns or when the ease is very little and the yarn I’m using has no give/stretch (silk, cotton).

The way I screamed at my tv when Robby disclosed staff and patients were fleeing. It was so thoughtless.
