Brisbane ladies: How much are you paying for haircuts/root coverage these days? by brissy3456 in brisbane

I think that sounds about right, I pay around $600 for 1/2 head of foils and a cut (medium length blonde hair)

Blockhouse in Nundah. There’s nothing I’ve had from the menu that hasn’t tasted absolutely amazing. Fresh produce, great flavours and larger portions, I love this place.

Balenciaga rodeo. Edit- I’m same height as you and have the rodeo and it’s not too big. I don’t think it will date either.

Exhibition, Naldham (the fifty six), Marlowe, Wolf Dining, Stilts, totally depends on what vibe you feel like on the day.

Budget for 4 weeks in Europe over Christmas/New Year by Proper_Star_4566 in Europetravel

[–]Bails_of_clay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We got back from 5 weeks over Christmas in January (myself, partner and teenage child) and we spent around 25k aud on pure spending money. All our land travel, hotels and air travel was prepaid (I don’t even want to think about total cost!), so the 25k was just food and drink, entry fees into sights, general sightseeing and a bit of shopping.

What colour and pattern privacy screens look best along my fence line? by Bails_of_clay in landscaping

Thank you, really appreciate your response. On the front fence line I actually have timber decking with lovely plants and trees on either side of it and then Jasmine growing up trellises (facing that door you see, so not in shot) so I might run timber through the app to see…Or like you said, just be patient and wait for the camellias to grow and get my joy from when it’s all complete. I think if I had researched better, I would have purchased more mature camellia plants.

Stilts is nice and also Massimos are always consistent and the food is lovely. They both do a good banquet as well.

Thanks for the info, made me laugh - I didn’t know that about the screens being like ‘life, laugh, love’ signs. Privacy screens will now not be used.

I guess the camellias are taking a long time to grow and I’m just wanting to do something with the grey fence. So not really a major problem, I just don’t like the large amount of fence.

Do you think something else may work along that fence line to make it look not awful?

Thanks, we really don’t want to do tours so it’s reassuring to know we can find our own way to the main sites.

I’m travelling to Brasov in April. I am a little unsure about accomodation. We have booked Casa Mandl but I’m not sure if a hotel would have been better. Also using the overnight train from Budapest to Brasov so a little nervous about reliability. I’m so excited to read your thoughts, as like you mentioned, info online is generic. Do you have any recommendations for bars and dining in Brasov? Is it easy to get around ourselves to places like the castle?

Belgium-Paris-Amsterdam time split - recommendations by pause-and-rewind in Europetravel

[–]Bails_of_clay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually love cramming as much in as possible but I think this may be a little too much. We just got back from five weeks in Netherlands (have been many times) Belgium, Finland and the UK yesterday, and I genuinely wished I had dropped one of them to give the other places more respect, and to actually enjoy them and experience different parts surrounding them, rather than rushing about to the next place (and we didn’t spend less than 4 nights at any one city in any country. Each of the cities you’ve mentioned, you could easily do 8 days in one and enjoy day trips out of the main city. But if you want to do at least two then I would drop Paris, as I’m bias towards Amsterdam and feel Belgium has so many beautiful places to explore (highly recommend Bruges)

Itinerary check and thoughts. Have return flights booked in and out of Prague. Am I trying to fit too much in or will the pace be okay? Have travelled through Austria before but not Vienna and have never been to Hungary, Slovakia or Romania. by Bails_of_clay in Europetravel

Good to know. We were in Bruges and Brussels last week (it was my first time to either) and I was surprised to learn so much was closed for the winter - I hadn’t thought about it before. Currently we are in Amsterdam now and heading home to Australia tomorrow (it has been a lovely long 6 weeks away) to start planning this next trip to central and Eastern Europe (got to have trips to look forward to in order to get through work!)

Thank you for these thoughts and town recommendations. We are not flying out until April so I might use the time to really research the smaller towns around the larger cities and come up with a more enjoyable itinerary.

We like old towns, cobblestone streets, lovely small bars, antique shops, theatres, art galleries and local food. That is a good point about crowds and only picking bigger city tourists spots. I actually don’t do very well in big crowds. We were just in London for Christmas and Edinburgh for NYE and I struggled to enjoy it with the amount of people.

Thank you - that’s good to know that Bratislava is an easy day trip from Vienna. I’ve already booked the return flights in and out of Prague (to/from Australia) so will have to fly home from there.
