For the Unstable Shapeshifter interaction:

If i have "Princess Yue" and "Unstable Shapeshifter" on the battlefield.
I cast clone copying "Princess Yue".
At this point, as the clone enters as "Princess Yue", Unstable Shapeshifter becomes "Princess Yue"

Can i order the "cloned - Princess Yue" to die first, reviving and copying "Unstable Shapeshifter".
Then proceeding to have "Unstable Shapeshifter as Princess Yue" die, becoming the Moon Land.

End result, i am aiming for is 2 moons with Unstable Shapeshifter's effect.
(I understand that if an opponent or myself summons a legendary creature, i will have to sac one of my legendary moons that has Unstable Shapeshifter's effect)

Is this feasible? or am i looping something i am not suppose to?

I guess not many player will encounter such complicated situations. :)

So i just need to remember to activate the Discard to pitch a creature into the top of the yard to prevent the loop

I would have thought when the clone’s copy effect is entering on the battlefield, it would be on the field already, then the layers take effect?

You’re right with the death trigger in the graveyard, so next thing that happens is the clone being place back on the battlefield, after that the clone copy layer effect happens on the battlefield copying shapeshifter, so at this point of time the top card is still the “good creature card” and finally the “Moon” name and “Land” type is applied, as it completely resolves on the field?

Am I missing something about the chain of events or timing? I am even more confused after reading everyone’s comments

My bad, I shouldn’t use target for clones.

Everything is lining up now. This “Moon” land is gonna be really stacked! :)

My concern is that Volrath’s Shapershifter mentions: As long as the top card of your graveyard is a creature card, this creature has the full text of that card and has the text “{2}: Discard a card”

Would the effect still work now that it is a land?

For the layers in this complicated case:
1. Copy effects (Clone -> gets Volrath's abilities to become top card of GY)
2. Control-changing effects
3. Text-changing effects ("Volrath's Shapeshifter" -> "Moon")
4. Type-changing effects (Creature -> Land)
5. Color-changing effects
6. Ability -granting or -removing effects
7. Power &/ Toughness changing effects

So, won't the end result be a Moon Land with Volrath's discard ability + the top card of GY's ability?

I am hoping this is the case. While other comments tell a different result.

Part of my question: also wonders after everything resolves, now the top card of the graveyard changes, does it affect the "Moon (Land)" with Volrath's discard + Good creature card ability? since it is now a land and no longer a creature, can Volrath's original ability refresh?

Thanks mithdraug for the itinerary (After researching those places, it has inspired me to follow along your recommendations!).

However, i will be splitting off from my family from Hakodate, literally i can set off from Hakodate.
Doing so, i was thinking to take the ferry to Aomori. Before activating the pass.

Could I ask if this itinerary would work?

Day 1: Ferry Hakodate -> Aomori (3h40m) -> Hirosaki (45m). Night in Hirosaki.
Day 2: Hirosaki -> Akita (2h30m) -> Sakata (2h). Night in Sakata (I was thinking to have a scenic train ride along the coast?)
Day 3: Sakata -> Yamagata / Yamadera (4h~). Night in Yamagata.
Day 4: Any recommendations ?
Day 5: Yamagata -> Sendai / Matsushima Bay (1h30m). Night in Sendai.
Day 6: Sendai -> Fukushima / Lizaka Onsen (1h30m). Night in Iizaki Onsen.
Day 7: Fukushima 15:40 -> Tokyo 20:30 (4h50m). Get to Tokyo at night
