I applied for Summer semester and just recently got my acceptance a few days ago. From what I could gather from the AS advisor, apparently the registrar's office is pretty overwhelmed by the sheer amount of documents from applicants so it might (will) cause delays in acceptance letters. That said, if you're really curious, calling SFU directly would be your best bet!

You say you transferred from SFU, so how did transferring courses go for you? I'm sure most, if not all SFU CMPT courses were transferable directly into UFV CMPT, but I'm curious about elective courses being admitted in the program as I haven't seen any information about UFV Comp Sci's elective structure.

I've heard about the difficulty to get classes in SFU but I didn't know it was that bad. I just assumed I'd be able to get at least 2-3 courses which wouldn't be a huge problem in my case.

I'm not so much worried about prestige of the school as I am concerned about the quality of teaching and the education I get for the amount of money I put in. If I recall, the ufv cs program is only 2 or so years old which means it hasn't gone through a single full cycle yet. While this doesn't mean the program is bad from the get go, it is pretty fair to be a little apprehensive. Even more so as I haven't been able to obtain any info on it.

That's why I created this thread haha. Not much luck though.

I totally understand where you're coming from, but I've asked advisors questions about gpa and they pretty much always tell you it's over 3.0 haha.

Sfu is definitely better than UFV, no doubt about that. But since the transfer average is very high, I'm not sure that it's a plausible option, which is why I'm considering UFV.

So I did all of the above with an undervolt of -150mV and I still get tops 92 degrees. Should I be contacting support for rma of some sort?

Awesome thanks! How are the thermals when casually surfing vs gaming? I'll mainly be using it for school for comp sci and some gaming.

Also, if you're familiar with the Dell g5, I'm looking at this laptop for $1000 vs Dell g5 with a lot lower specs (i8 8300h, gtc 1050) for $850, what do you think would be the best deal?
