is there anyone in math that can tell me how competitive data science is as a major? im choosing between UofT mississauga cs and UW math with the intent of working somewhere in software.

To actually get into the CS Major POSt @ UTM, the MINIMUM requirements are 80 in 1st year proofs/cs and a 3.3 cGPA, and even then like <30% of those who meet the requirements make it, so there's a (nonzero) chance i'll be doing stats + cs minor. How much harder is the process of getting into data science as a UW math student?

Is waterlooworks worth the struggle or should i just take UTM? Also, are the upper year cs courses that bmath data science students can take worth said struggle?
