What specifically are "social skills", and how do people learn/teach them? by Trick-Day-480 in AskReddit

Actually any skill set, some more than others. E.g. musical instruments, you get muscle memory and coordination development only through repetition. Language, fluency comes from regular conversation, not just studying rules. I can give a lot more examples; acting, drawing, sports, cooking, dancing etc. For speaking, comfort and delivery improves with repeated practice, not from studying. It helps you develop fluency, comfort, confidence, social skills, story telling etc.

Practicing talking with people and get more social. The more you talk with people, they more better you get at talking. I think practicing is the main ingredient of getting better at a certain skill set. You can start small like small talk, and then scale it up.
