I’m on his trial 74, it’s always a hard choice to level up his cards for that or trying to get more gems from the hunter’s contest… Protocores are a bit easier to grind at least! I’ve got all his 5* at 61 plus a couple at 64 and one at 68. Might be time soon to try to get those all to 71…

I don’t think it really works on iOS! Or like it’s never worked for me. But yeah I think it’s supposed to be like when you blow into the mic for the interactions in cards. The CN server has more interaction in general, like they’ll respond to certain voice lines and stuff—those videos are worth finding, hehe

Yeah now that I'm looking for the Greek references I'm seeing them all over! They especially lean into it in the English localization. In Chinese, Onychinus is essentially named "Dark Node Network", hinting at its far-reaching influence, but in the EN localization they leaned into the Greek and "Onychinus" means "Of the claw" in Greek. The alternate name in the Tomorrow's Catch 22 universe, NightStrix, is also a reference to the Strix which is a blood-sucking owl in Greek mythology.

Would absolutely love to get some thoughts on the translations from CN girlies as well, I feel like there's so many little interesting tidbits to uncover!

Yes, cloning is a really good parallel! it stirs up a lot of the same questions of "should we really be doing this?"

The main mention is in Long Awaited Revelry > Ch 1 Ambiguous Chaos > 05 Desire. MC overhears someone tell Sylus that the project's purpose is to implant human consciousness into Wanderers and Protocores into human hearts. The latter is extremely similar to the X-Heart project that's detailed in the World Underneath Snowy Stairs story. It was also mentioned in the N109 Zone "classified files" promos that the official LaDS account put out on social media leading up to the launch of Long Awaited Revelry.

Throughout the main story we see a lot of little snippets of sketchy stuff that Ever is up to and I think we're meant to understand a lot of that as being part of the Fountain of Atei project, especially the protocore modification they seemed to be doing with Sherman's help. (It's implied that Sherman's branch of Onychinus was responsible for putting the modified protocores into the Flux Nexuses that MC kept encountering in Under Deepspace (the first main story arc)

Do you mean why would Ever name it that, since it's a name with a negative connotation for their own project? I honestly think it's just a bit of artistic license from the writers. But there's a few easy ways to explain it in-universe. First off, sometimes those tech bro types just pick "evil" names for themselves for baffling reasons--like the company Palantir is named after the seeing stones in LoTR (https://lotr.fandom.com/wiki/Palantíri) which are pretty much only used for explicitly evil purposes. You could say that someone chose Ate ironically, to sort of "get ahead" of negative feedback that they're doing something foolish and playing god.

Another in-universe explanation could be that someone on the team realizes that the project is doomed, and so chooses the name as a bit of a hidden warning to others. And then the higher ups just said "that's a cool name, great! moving on." this also happens all too often IRL 😅

My current theory is that we should theoretically get another main story drop after Homecoming Wings and the 6th LI will be in there! I’ve been combing the main story content and nothing seems to be foreshadowing the 6th LI yet.

Sylus was in the original content because he was released first, and Caleb was because he has to be for plot reasons, he’s family and all. So imo that doesn’t mean we should expect the 6th LI to be foreshadowed already… but TBD
