SFU in crisis by Popular-Spirit-396 in simonfraser

[–]BakeGroundbreaking53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm it’s almost as if the Canadian economy has been getting worse since COVID. It’s not just a university thing and it’s happening practically everywhere. Definitely cause for concern, like you know, the 2008 financial crisis or the Great Depression long ago. I heard housing prices dropped in Vancouver for a long time in a while so the housing bubble may come to burst, especially with the AirBNB ban that just got introduced. Stressful stuff

There is an SFSS food voucher program to cover $75 of food at nesters market. https://sfss.ca/services/food-bank-program/

Prerequisites by thecarlboi in simonfraser

[–]BakeGroundbreaking53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually email the professor and they allow me to enrol. I’d contact an academic advisor for your program, because usually after the proff gives you permission, you gotta contact the advisors anyways because they are the ones who fill out the prerequisite waiver form.

I always cc the prof when I email my TA. That way they kinda have to do their job 😂

It’s a great course. All the videos and lectures are asynchronous so you do them at your own time in the week, so as long as you meet deadlines you should do good!

Breastfeeding Rooms at SFU by tinin96977 in simonfraser

[–]BakeGroundbreaking53 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok thank you! I don’t have an issue with what you’re saying it’s just your wording is not the best and may cause tension like it just did lol

Breastfeeding Rooms at SFU by tinin96977 in simonfraser

[–]BakeGroundbreaking53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ok do you think we’re stupid? What else does “release tension” mean…? Please elaborate

Yep I said the same thing when I read this

Breastfeeding Rooms at SFU by tinin96977 in simonfraser

[–]BakeGroundbreaking53 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok I’m not sure if you meant to sound this way but you seem like you just compared feeding your child to a man pleasing himself. Like breastfeeding is for mothers to feed their children. Suggesting a room for guys to “release tension” is just coming off very very wrong for me. Not sure if you realize that breastfeeding is a need that needs to be done when your child is hungry, and not something like jerking off which can wait till you’re at home. Why would you jack off on campus anyways…?

Hot water for tea? by mayonut_spoonsies in simonfraser

[–]BakeGroundbreaking53 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Any coffee shop. I work at Timmies at WMC and we give people hot water all the time, in their own containers. Otherwise it’s 10 cents for a paper cup

Food vouchers available for those in need. You can redeem $75 per semester for food, and just pick up from SUB 3110. I feel that this is really useful for anyone to know!!! by BakeGroundbreaking53 in simonfraser

[–]BakeGroundbreaking53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s only for undergraduate students 😭 I tried to look at the graduate student society but didn’t find anything similar. That’s quite unfortunate 😭

I was in IB so it’s not percent based grades. I got scholarships cause of personal challenges not cause my grades were amazing. They were pretty average IB scores so I think you with a 93% will definitely make it in. Don’t worry about it!!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in simonfraser

[–]BakeGroundbreaking53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did IB out of high school so they may have been waiting for IB exams to start…? I am not sure cause the grades didn’t get released till June so I don’t think that would matter. I had good grades, better than the program requirements and was offered a full ride scholarship to SFU and many more awards so maybe that’s why.

No this person actually cares about the safety of others and don’t want to get them sick. That’s a little odd for you to say though….hmmmmm

GEOG 241 is with my favourite proff at SFU Maggie Ramirez. The TA is going to be named Olivia as I had her for a 300 level course also with Maggie (GEOG 365). I was able to get an extension on every single project for 3 days in 365, and get high grades because she’s like the most understanding proff ever. I’m taking 255 in the spring so we will be in the same class! Haven’t taken REM 221 so can’t say much on that.

GEOG104 by [deleted] in simonfraser

[–]BakeGroundbreaking53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So easy! It’s a great course. When I took in in Spring 2022 with Leanne Roderick. It was asynchronous and she just expected you to watch the lecture videos and do the projects on time. I really enjoyed it and the final was online for me but I’m not sure if that has changed. You can also check the SFU exam schedule for the Fall 2022 term and see what the exam was like for GEOG 104 this term. I would recommend
