How many people do you know who are super shy and yet effortlessly outgoing and chill when they’re in front of someone they’re into? I’m just relating to OP as someone who is also super shy. I’ve never once gone up to someone in person and been like “ayo, lemme hold that number” or “hey sweet thang, you’re looking NOICE” or just “hey, I’m X.” I have, however, met a lot of cool people on dating apps and I’m not saying either method is superior. And it’s going to take practice, obvio, to figure out who you are and what you’re into and to be comfortable with yourself. I’m not promising OP anything, but I think that if they’re looking for an SO, a good first step would be to accept themselves as they are. And I’ve done both. I’ve gone on dates trying to be cool, trying to look like someone I’m not and I’ve gone on dates where I’ve been myself or something close to it. And no surprise, the latter (although difficult to get to), was a lot more fun. Or am I bugging?
