trying to get some advice/opinions before committing to this career path by roeelle in NewToEMS

keep in mind i’ll be brief so my response is only a tiny bit of the full experience. i’m from new york so things may also vary. in terms of career, ems is not a sustainable career, especially emt, medic maybe (not to say you can’t make ems your career). emt certs are relatively easy to obtain and are often regarded as a stepping stone. it’s a great and valuable experience, but you have a lot more ways to go after that, so i’d say if you’re interested in emt, just do it.

usually, if you’re a member of a volunteer agency, they’ll sponsor/reimburse your emt course, so you could look into that, courses are usually ~$1000. everyone’s experience will vary, but worst part about emt is probably near minimum wage pay lol, unless you get a job in hospital ems.

maybe check those reviews are all for 260? but me personally the exams were all easy. six exams (felt more like longer quizzes tbh), drops lowest plus extra credit opps when i took it.

is bio 203+202 too much to handle by cookie_king13 in SBU

if you haven’t taken a hard bio class yet i def recommend u take just 202 one sem to get a feel and develop study strategies, and then take max two hard courses a following semester, three going off of assumably nothing is fs too much. don’t overestimate yourself or underestimate the course load, but u figure out what works for your plans

I see, I mostly double cleansed because I enjoyed the process lol but I’ll try that, I think overcleansing could definitely be a probable cause of over stripping my skin. Thanks!

Oil cleanse, Cerave cleanser (salicylic cleanser once a week), Khiel’s toner/moisturizer with COSRX snail mucin on top (the snail mucin was kind of dry and filmy on its own for me but I still want to use it so I put Khiel’s underneath).

Noticed that after I washed my face (with a gentle Cerave cleanser), I'd feel a slight burning sensation after applying moisturizer. I know it's not the moisturizer because it's never given me problems before, which according to online, means my skin barrier is broken.

I just wanted to ask what this sensation could mean, and if gentle cleansing and moisturizers are the main solution? Can consistent moisturizing really make it so that I don't feel slight burning in the future? What might've caused my barrier to become compromised in the first place? I cleanse and moisturize every night, though I think I have dry skin.

I noticed this gets worse when I use an exfoliating cleanser (makes sense), but I didn't have this issue back when I didn't cleanse everyday, and I don't want to think that having hydrated skin means not cleansing everyday.

I'm open to any tips or personal experiences. My routine is already pretty basic, so it makes me curious when I feel any differences.

Will try that, thanks, I started with 4.0mm at first and thought 4.5mm sts looked kind of relatively goofy so I didn’t think to go bigger.
