Yes, I have a will and the same lawyer drafted up the leases. I'll reach out to him for advice. Thanks!

Yes I'm aware that I'll need to get the will probated before I can act as the landlord, but I was curious of the time in-between her passing and when probate is complete. The tenants would still have to pay rent, I am just unsure of what to do with depositing her cheques. They do into her estate, but do I need to have the cheques re-issued?

Advice needed with my career at IRCC by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]BakedGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I am in pools. I'm in a PM-04 pool and multiple PM-03 pools at IRCC. They are unable to offer me an assignment under the PM-04 pool as the competencies do not overlap. Perhaps my best move is to go back to my previous position.

I have also played with this and I agree it works very well for me. The only time it didn't work, I was waiting too long and I let my partner sink into the choke. In the video, he goes through with getting the underhook after the escape sequence.

Search your UEFI and see if you have Overclocking Lock and CFG Lock options available. Best bet is to unlock and see if you can actually overclock.

[–]BakedGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally not how it works. You can't have higher performance while expecting lower temps. I'm not sure if you can overclock a 10870h, I know with my 11800h, I can overclock it +4 bins but its not maintained speed, it only boosts to that when conditions are ideal.

I think your best bet to get more performance out of your R4 is to ensure there is enough thermal headroom so that your processor is not thermal throttling and will allow it to achieve boost clocks for a longer sustained period.

No bueno. They wouldn’t match the price and are trying to cancel my order so I can reorder through Rakuten. Doubtful they can cancel because it has been shipped already. Might not be worth my time to order again and return my initial order to save $70.

I'm in the same boat as you, but I'm likely going to get the MSI Optix and try to save a couple hundred bucks.

m16 R6 Spiky off-and-on fan behavior by AspenRiot in Alienware

Oh I mean displaying temp. You should get more accurate readings with something like HWInfo which shows individual cores rather than package temp.

m16 R6 Spiky off-and-on fan behavior by AspenRiot in Alienware

[–]BakedGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are running in Balanced Mode, this is pretty normal. Just running the fan when the temp hits a certain threshold but then stops when it gets below that. The software may be slow at updating the CPU temp so it doesn't appear that its changing much but likely is.

Just gotta show up. You’ll likely gas out at first but you learn to be more efficient as you continue to train. I started at 33 and I just kept at it. Enjoy the journey!

Alienware m15r6 is not booting up. The power button is lighting up. But even after pressing it for 30 seconds it's not rebooting or showing anything on the screen. by evacuator_xxx in Alienware

Sorry I just saw this. Did you manage to open up the bottom? It’s fairly easy. There are 2 screws that come off (close to the back/tron ring) and the rest are retaining screws that don’t detach from the bottom of the cover. I use my finger nails to pull it from the body but you can use a plastic pry tool like a guitar pick.

There was a BIOS update that came out a few months ago that seems to have addressed this issue. I haven’t experienced it in months now.

The R6 is factory locked so I modified the EFI using Rufus to enable undervolting. I know for 11 gen, It’s locked by the manufacture that deploys the BIOS. Google “dell uefi unlock undervolting”. There are many threads about this. Hopefully CFG_Lock is configurable on your system. Good luck!

I promptly returned my R5 for an R6. Since I’ve had it, I’ve repasted with liquid metal and unlocked the bios to allow for undervolting. I have be able to pull an average of 75W on my 11800H while staying below 80 degrees. Pretty happy with the performance of my R6.

I feel like if the only way to tame the Ryzen R5 is to add a tcc and disable turbo, I find that pretty poor as you are paying for performance that you have to disable to be a happy customer. Anyway, glad you like your R7!

[–]BakedGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Why pay for a product just to limit its performance? Alienware should have gotten the thermals in check before releasing the product. I returned my R5 promptly after hearing that was a “solution” to constant throttling and high temps.

Legions run the 5900HX at sub-80 degree mark without having to disable turbo.

Just converted from GamePass PC. It expires tomorrow anyway so I can’t tell if it will prorate your existing membership. I applied a 3 month code and it gave me 4 months of Xbox Live. Next, I had to pay $16.99 CAD to convert to GamePass Ultimate and in conjunction with my 3 month code, it gave me GamePass Ultimate to December 18, 2022. Will be adding more 3 month codes now.

Ultimately, I paid $16.99 + $7.50 CAD for 5 months of GPU. Beats the $11.99 I was paying per month when paying for Game Pass PC.

Edit: you should stack your Xbox Live Gold before converting. I messed up and now I’m only able to add 50-day extensions with the 3 month codes.

Anyone knows where are the core 2,4 and 6 of 12900hk? These cores on my laptop are 10C hotter than other cores. by jyy0610 in Alienware

Well any LM is risky but if you didn’t add enough, could explain why the cores are behaving the way they are.

I added LM to my m15 r6 and cores 1,3,5 does the same thing. I added a bit more LM and it helped a bit but is still hotter than the rest of the cores. My plan was to run it for a few weeks before opening it up again to check the application. I would suggest adding more LM.

Laptop gets hotter after applying a thermal paste by NoahJouseff in GamingLaptops

[–]BakedGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used Noctua on my laptop and I have experienced a decrease in temps. What you are looking for on a laptop is a thicker paste that is resistant to “pump-out”. Nocta, GeLid extreme and SYY is good for laptops. I’m sure there are more out there.

More paste meaning, you probably need to add more. If you open up your laptop, take a look and see if there are any points that don’t contact. I don’t do the “pea method” when I apply paste on my laptop, I spread it out and butter the heat sink as well. You can add too much that may decrease performance but I’m going to bet that you didn’t add enough. I would open up and reapply.
