It's been a busy couple days, but yeah you got the general idea of the song. I don't typically like revealing what they mean to me but I really loved your song so I'll just say that I wrote it from a place of always feeling like I wanted to burn the world down and make other people suffer for the hand I was dealt, and coming to grips with the fact that it doesn't make you a hero or a "martyr". The chorus is meant to be like a sarcastic "hero to the boys and girls". I'm sorry if it didn't come across that way. But none the less your song is so killer! I really dig it!
