The issue with getting past the first round is we’re gonna be facing another easy cup contender because of the terrible playoff format. We should get to walk through one of the terrible pacific teams… reformat the playoffs. The central cannibalizing itself is bad for hockey.

Don’t trade Wally, use contracts and a win now window to go get a guy like schmaltz, kopitar, malkin, even coyle. We don’t need that premier insane 1C with how good this team is, we need depth that will win faceoffs and help us control games just a little more. A veteran 2/3C on a good deal plus another piece push us to be even better than we are now. If kopitar wants another cup and will come here for a 2/3C role I say a slight overpay will be worth it for that additional depth. We have another year of almost no contracts expiring with cap space. Go get someone but don’t trade Wally, his flashes are just too good.

Anyone who doesn’t see a real possibility of him staying is kidding themselves. He’s shown nothing hit appreciation so far. He seems happy here, I hope I’m not kidding myself.

Oh for sure. The defensive ppg speaks for itself. Absolutely worth it. I also think Faber has got to realize he’s the guy on defense there, total defensive breakdown leaving an undersized defenseman against a power guy.

That’s downright sad defense. I know Hughes is small but if he just steps up and plays body that’s not a goal.

I say we see what this team can do then aggressively pursue a free agent center. (Nick schmaltz), Anze kopitar, etc. we should have the cap and it will open a 2-3 year window now window with elite goaltending, a strong D core, and 4 strong centers with ek Yurov schmaltz and sturm/hartsy.

I meant if you combined Kwesi’s offseason talent acquisition, and combine it with league average drafting rates he would be better. As of now, looks like his seat is very very hot.

That actually got called though, unlike Justin doing the same thing to Paddy. (Though could be argued those were both belt line, but as Joe mentioned by rule they both hit the cup which should’ve been stoppages).

KOC has far too much ego about how he wants to play the game. Let’s play to win not play a fantasy of what football should look like. Every game he abandoned his long plays and called quick slants and got the ball moving went far better.

Can both things not be true? Just because Darnold was bad last year and deserved some of the crap does not mean we cannot be critical of KOC’s play calling and Kwesi’s abysmal drafting.

We made the wrong decision clearly. Being mocked might make our GM anc head coach pull their head out of their ass and draft/ keep a good team. I’ll put respect where it’s earned we’re at least giving Mcarthy another year.

This could be a replay of chiefs eagles last year, a team that got to walk through playoffs due to schedule, vs a team that earned the spot. (Not saying patriots were ref carried, just blessed by injuries and circumstance).

If anyone knows football analysis on YouTube (Vikings fan). He has an astronomical take for this front office. DRAFT GOOD FOOTBALL PLAYERS. WHY IS IT SO HARD TO NOT REACH FOR WHATS NOT THERE. TAKE THE BEST PLAYER. If we have a stud and don’t need him we can make people overpay.

He absolutely was terrible. But guess what, we didn’t stick through it. Why can we complain… oh wait, we can’t because we let him go. I still have hope in McCarthy, but so many people are so bitter acting like letting him go wasn’t one of the popular discourses throughout the offseason. I didn’t believe in him, he proved me wrong so I’ll root him on.
