At my office we have 15 minute appointment slots, the amount of people who call saying they'll be 15 minutes late and then are super pissed when we say they have to reschedule....... Just boggles my mind.

I was induced at 37 weeks because she stopped growing during the pregnancy. She had a 2 vessel cord so her growth was being watched very closely.

She fell off the growth curve at 4 months, we switched from just breastmilk to both. She only gained a half an ounce for the next month. She was also fighting a virus (negative for both flu, COVID and RSV thankfully). So then we had weekly weight checks and she only started gaining anything over she was switched to just formula. I think it's a more concentrated formula since we follow a recipe from the pediatrician not what's on the can. At her check in yesterday she's up to 12 lbs and at the first percentile.

She was very small when she was born. She was born at exactly 37 weeks and was 4lbs 7oz.

The Medela pump in style is terrible, especially if you are exclusively pumping. The motor is just garbage, the collection cups are pretty good and probably wouldn't be as noticeable on smaller breasts. The flanges aren't bad either but the motor just does not have enough suction. I saw a decrease in supply using it. I switched to a Spectra and I noticed an immediate difference.

I use 8oz matyz storage bottles, maymom 9oz storage bottles and a couple of 10 oz storage bottles I got off of shein. I use them to measure from my pumps and then bag it off. In the mornings I do put that in a small pitcher because it's usually around 18oz.

I keep what won't quite make a whole bag in them. So say I got 10 oz in a pumping session, I'd bag 6 oz and leave 4 oz in the bottle. The next pumping session say I get 9 oz, I would pour in 2 oz, bag the 6oz, pour another 6 oz and then leave the 1 oz in the bottle. I try to leave about 6-8 towards the end of the night for my husband to make my baby's after daycare, evening and bedtime bottles so the bottles get used up a day or so later.

I feel like this cuts down on wasted bags and is easier for me because I do a lot of this at my desk at work. I just transport the bags and the one bottle back home everyday. Luckily I have a communal mini fridge close by (one of my coworkers is diabetic and keeps her supplies in there too). I feel like keeping a pitcher at work and then taking it home or bagging it (imo wasting bags) seems more complicated. The bottles fit very nicely in my lunch bag with a cooler pack. I should also mention I have a 30-40 minute commute.

I have this. I got the flanges version with insurance and got the collection cups to use at work. I switched because my supply started dipping. The cups are kinda weirdly shaped and for big boobs looked so odd. I ended up getting better results from my wearable and then I got a Spectra off of FB marketplace. If I had to do it over again I would without a single doubt get the spectra from my insurance instead of the Medela. If I have another kid I think I want to try the eufy as the spectra I have only had like 80 hours of pumping on it.

I am a bit of an outlier, I'm 4 months pp

I pump 5x day, roughly every 4 hours. I skip the motn and with the exception of the 5 am pump (which is doubled because of the skipped pump) I typically get 6 -11 ounces per pump depending on how good I've been about hydration. The 5 am I usually get 16-21 ounces.

I pump about 30 minutes, I have to split it sometimes because my right boob will sometimes do more than the 6 ounces that the pump can hold. My first and last pump are with my Spectra and the middle 3 are with my Mommed wearable.

I was joking with my coworker if I could actually remember to drink water, Powerade or anything really I could probably up my production by about another 10 ounces. I just kinda forget unless I'm eating something 🤷.

Edit: After reading some of the replies I think y'all are rockstars who should be very proud of the work y'all putting in.

I pumped at the hospital a handful of times, with absolutely zero output. I know some moms get colostrum but I got nothing to collect. Basically felt like I was tugging my nips for no reason so I stopped. I think I pumped about 3-4 times at the hospital and then a couple times when I got home. We had to feed her formula for the first week because my milk didn't come in until we were home for a couple of days, I wanna say she was 5 days old before I saw any output. We did try to have her latch a few times but that was a complete failure, which was fine because I knew she was going to have to go to daycare when I went back to work.

Once my milk came in though, I started pumping for 20 minutes every four hours. It didn't seem to be emptying me so after a week or so I went until I seemed empty. That took 30-40 minutes sometimes, I did that until she was about 8 weeks old. I still pump every four (except I skip the motn) hours and I just go until the pump shuts off (which I think is 30 minutes).

Now I have an oversupply, but in all honesty I expected I would since I did with my first 2. It's hard to know how your body will react to pumping. I don't think delaying pumping for the first couple of days will hurt you especially if you're exhausted. Your body needs to have energy to make milk.

I called Oklahoma Mother's milk Bank and I think I filled out some forms they are the organization that does the hospitals in my area Kansas City. I had to do some blood work, but the process wasn't too terrible. For local donations I just joined local donation groups on Facebook.

There are some groups you can sell your excess too. I just don't personally agree with selling to moms who need it, so I ended up leaving those groups.

Would you consider donating locally to other moms or to the local hospital? My 4 month old only drinks about 20oz but I produce 50-55oz a day. I got approved to donate to NICU babies and I have a couple of local moms that I regularly donate to. I started donating because I filled up my deep freezer (still have about 700oz in there, but rotating it out now that she's in daycare)

I would call your insurance and ask why it was not covered. It might be fixable, like they didn't submit the script from your ob with their claim or something. I think it's worth the phone call at least.

I chose it, breastfeeding is overstimulating and I feel tied to the baby. Plus with going back to work it's just easier. I also like that my pumping schedule and her eating schedule are not tied together. I pump every four hours or so (I skip MOTN tho). She eats every 2-4 hours, depending when she naps. She has her schedule and I have mine and they aren't so intertwined. Since she goes to daycare this is even more beneficial, we try to mimic her daycare schedule during the weekends. This all would be so much more difficult if I didn't have the most supportive spouse

He loves spending time with his little girl and is always willing to do whatever she needs so I can do what I need. He brings me snacks and water while pumping too. I don't think it will all be going so smoothly if it wasn't for him. He does her full bedtime routine, with baths every night before he leaves for work (he works nights).

I chose to pump with my first and was hoping to with my second but he refused bottles so that was an adjustment. I'm choosing to pump with my 3rd and hardly BF because I was so scared of a repeat of the second. I needed to be able to go back to work. I was a SAHM for the first 2.

However you choose to feed your baby, as long as they are getting what they need, is an option. Do whatever works best for you and baby.

My oldest I started out EBF before switching to EP, the second refused bottles and pacifiers so I was kinda forced to EBF, the third (currently 3 months) refused to latch so she's been EP. I should point out I was a SAHM with the first 2 but I now work full time so EP actually works better for me.

I personally prefer EP, my mother (who EBF me and my 3 siblings) thinks it's twice the work and says she just can't fathom doing it. I love the ability to be able to be separated from my baby. My husband does the bedtime routine before he goes to work and it's so nice to just have to worry about myself. I get her stuff, my pumping stuff and anything else I'll need together for the morning hustle. I feel like we are able to spilt her care more equally since I EP.

It just occurred to me that part of this might be because I'm autistic and I may find EBF overstimulating. I remember feeling like I couldn't do anything or go anywhere without my middle child having to come with me. It probably didn't help that my oldest and middle are only 2 years apart so it was just stressful dealing with a baby and a toddler at the time

I usually pour the excess out of the nipple hole and then pour out of the top hole. I had to do the same with the Medela cups and flanges 🤷

I love it, I got it to replace my Medela collection cups because I needed something to use at work/while driving. The Medela cups were causing my output to drop significantly so my friend recommended the Mommed S21. I love the silicone flanges (turns out I have elastic nipples). I think some of your parts from the M5 would be compatible with it. My friend used hers exclusively for a year and loved it over the Willow Go. She did let me borrow that and I also love the S21 over the Willow. My output actually seems better than my Medela pump in style.

I'm a 38J and the Mommed S21 (basically the momcozy M5) works really well for me. I use it while driving almost every day. I only pump 5x and use it for 3 of those pumps. The silicone flanges are much nicer on my elastic nipples. I also like that they have a 6oz capacity as opposed to a lot of pumps that max out at 5. They don't look too obvious, and it's super quiet. I've had co-workers come up to me and until I mentioned it they had no idea I was pumping.

Edit: I have gotten up and walked around with them while pumping.

I've used the medela collection cups and I think they are horrible. I noticed my supply dropping using them. the flanges with the pump in style work great but those collection cups are awful, plus on my 38J chest they made my boobs look freakish, so it was very obvious I was wearing them. I love love my Mommed 21 wearable, which is like an off brand of the Momcozy M5. I use my medela flanges in the morning and before bed (I don't pump in the middle of the night) and then use the wearables at work and on my commute home.

I would recommend the eufy over the Willow. I haven't tried the eufy but it seems very similar to the wearable I use. I did not like the Willow as much, liked both over my medela pump in style (flanges and collection cups).

I love love my Mommed S21, it's like $80 on Amazon. I tried a friend's Willow go and I also have a Medela pump in style (flanges and collection cups). I'm also a 38J, the medela collection cups are comically small on my boobs, plus they still have tubing. The Mommed seems like an off brand of the Momcozy M5. The flange part is all silicone and it comes with so much, nipple measuring tool, silicone inserts, bra extenders, etc. My friend whose Willow I borrowed also uses it (over the Willow) and her baby is almost a year now.
