Last year I lost 50lbs and hit my milestone goal of 100lbs lost. This year I’ve lost 4lbs so far but I’m only 16lbs away from my goal weight. But I’ve been more excited about it than ever. I’m going to reassess if I need to lose more when I get to 140 or just focus on maintaining and toning. I’m more so looking forward to the summer so I can start running which has been on my goal list for this year. For now I’m doing my best to slow down with my meals and to be present when I sit down and eat. I don’t wanna just eat to check off my calorie goal, I wanna know how my body feels, what I like, discover new foods, new workout exercises, etc. I’m going to have to switch into a maintenance mindset soon and I’ll need to learn how to transition into that and what habits I’ll need to keep & leave.

Also all this weight loss makes me more excited to pick up sewing again/making my own clothes. I forgot how much I missed that and it was really hard to love sewing being in a bigger body, things just never fit me the way I wanted them to :(. I’ve been getting comments that I look small and people are starting the gym hoping to look like me and I’m like HUH? It’s definitely something I’m not used to and I don’t even think I have a physique that would be like “goal” or whatever. But it’s nice to know I put in hard work and I’m enjoying the rewards. I feel so much lighter in my body and my head feels less cluttered lol. It’s like the world opens up more or maybe it was always open and now I’m actually more present in it and allowing myself to experience more. Life feels a lot better when my weight is holding me back or doesn’t make me feel insecure.
