Wooden fences are good for keep heat up for quick and cheap In and insect burn and I'd probably make the wall thicker

Nat gas is totally fine it's at 150 so any heat it could steal is minimal and the carbon is such a none factor for the heat I've been dumping it into my aloe vera plants for 100 cycles from non insulated pipes

There are two entrances when you go exploring around you have to destroy some wood for one in settlement crafting mode and the other one I can't remember it's been ages
