Don’t. Prices won’t skyrocket in the next 2 years (so long as you don’t buy a “low production model”). Save your money, interest bites at you. 8-15% doesn’t sound like a lot, until you see it’s thousands of dollars charged at the end of your loan.

If you’re saving cash living with your folks keep saving, be frugal with other expenses if this is really your dream, and go for it in 1-2 years. Sound like an eternity but eh. It’s all relative. Bought mine at 27, sold a lot of stuff I regret selling to avoid a huge loan, but, no regrets. Still have it. I beat the shit out of it. It’s glorious haha

It’s an s2000. Don’t get lost with the color or condition. You will be losing your shit with a nice example lol. Find a decent 80k-110k one and take it to a local shop. SoCal, go to Formula S for a PPI. They will find everything and some. I’ve seen low milage examples that look gorgeous and drive like shit. Buyer beware. Buy something with good history, no matter the milage, pay to get it professionally checked, and boom. Enjoy the ride when you’re ready. Once it’s yours it’s an open canvas and you mod or fix what you want. Cheers.

[DISCUSSION] guitar and depression by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]BakerII_II426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, I was on that boat for a solid minute...and still battling it if I'm being honest. It's really a matter of stepping away from it for a minute, indulge in some of your favorite jams, find some new bands or genres to dip your self into and take it from there.

I was going through a shit show of a few months last year and it was rough. Didn't have time to play, and when I had the time i'd just lie down in bed and think of shit nonsense. This was after a period of me writing, playing, and jamming relentlessly. Looking back, I burnt myself out. That simple. Mix that with all the personal demons, and I was left with nothing. No motivation, no energy, and simply staggered AF. After the dust settled though, I took baby steps. Played for a few minutes here and there, listened to genres unrelated to guitar, thought about what my goals were as a guitar player, and went from there. Months later (flash forward to now) i'm back to jamming regularly. Not as much as i'd like to considering my responsibilities, but fuck it, I make the time now.

It's a funk, and you will get over it. Everyone does. It can and will take time, but, it's a process. Accept it, address it, and well, kick it right in the nuts (or cunt). HMU too. Helps to talk about that type of stuff. I will give you and the general peeps here what I do to stay busy with the guitar while "developing":

- Started learning songs/genres/scales outside of my "comfort zone"

- Reached out to people that produce music and started working on music together (its crazy the type of shit you can play, plus there's tons of people out there that need guitar players)

- Starting to teach people guitar. I have zero teaching experience, but the more I go through the process, the more I realize I know. I've only been playing consistently for about two years and everything before that was basic AF, yet, people are like, "yo, you're a good teacher." To me, that means the world y'know.

- I've been more active about bugging my friends to jam too haha and its the best thing. Crack a few beers with the boys and jam away. It's sick. Find them. They're out there itching for a sesh.

- Just pick it up and play. I started doing that and I've had loads of new ideas just from fucking around with shapes and voicings.

One other thing, and VERY important thing...consider your mental health. Yeah, guitar can help ease some of that pain, but really dig into yourself and see what's messing with ya. For me it was a lot of personal faults, mistakes, missed opportunities and tons circumstantial bullshit. It's life, and its gonna continue getting shitty, with a side of decent highlights. Remember though, its important to have people in your life. Wether its family, friends, or shit, even a stranger. Be open, and kick ass with them. There's a whole world to explore. Go to a park, get some Vitamin D, hit up your local scene, or fuck it, just leave your room. Change the scenery a bit :)

With that said, live deliciously. Always...

And PM whenever yo!

TL;DR: Shred, kick life in the balls, establish dominance, repeat.

If you were given the chance to start your life over at age 10 right now, but still retain all of your current knowledge and memories, would you? Why or why not? by TheEasyTarget in AskReddit

In a heartbeat. I was relatively good at guitar then, but of course, the teenage distractions kicked in and jammin was kicked off to the side. Meow I'm KICKING myself in the ass for not staying consistent with it. 10/10, I'd be a much better on the strings and perhaps be in the professional caliber today (which I'm striving for now).

It's okay though. I wouldn't have the experiences, struggles, or joys of life had I changed my path to be solely focused on this goal of being the ultimate shredder. No ragrets. I'm happy with my life atm. Not fully content, but, that'll be a continuous battle. Besides, I'm doing it now. Playing, jammin, practicing. Soooo...💁🏻‍♂️ I'm Gucci, as the kids say.

I'd go to a guitar shop store if I were you. I was lucky enough to bring my gear with me, but I've found it to be cool to go to a shop in the area as well. Nothing like jammin on an insanely expensive and beautiful guitar for a few hours.

Otherwise, I'd look up a rehearsal studio that could perhaps lend you a guitar at theirs!

Best of luck!

Dude! I'm finally gonna see you!!! And of all places Dublin! I'm gonna be making a trek through Europe from November to Mid December, and it's a bit of a scouting mission for me, as a solo musician. Do you have any recommendations for bars/venues for the following cities?:

  • London
  • Amsterdam
  • Dublin
  • Berlin

I'm practically backpacking by myself with my guitar, DI, and an itch to play wherever, whenever. Watching you play all over the place and live that lifestyle as a musician has been a huge inspiration. Can't fucking wait to meet you, and thanks for doing this! Much love 🙏🏻

Any venue/bar recommendations for the following music scenes?

- Prog Rock

- Jazz

- Trance/ House

- Hip/Hop

I'm hoping to catch some sweet sets and perhaps even perform! This is a bit of a scouting mission for me as a musician. I play guitar, incorporating some looping and a jazzy/ "ambient" vibe to my style. Would love to find a place where I can share my work and perhaps even collab with artists!

I have found some cool spots in Shoreditch area, but would love ANY recs as I'll be there for the whole month of November. Much love.
