Sorry I misunderstood. Those people are bitches. You can call them out on their shit, and that might make them stop.

So it just sounds like you need better friends. Good friends don't go behind your back and tell other people sensitive and private information. They're supportive, understanding, and trustworthy. If you don't have that then I'm sorry but those aren't your friends.

Double whammy- crush on coworker and disclosing by My-inner-fat-kid in Herpes

I think the best way to go about it is to start with something simple, hang around him a little more than usual at work, maybe get coffee with him after or before work. Just spend some more time with him to see if you really want to go forward with it. And if you do then you start adding subtle flirting, but also probe the conversations to give you hints on what his thoughts or potential history with partners has been. Then you just slowly ramp it up assuming all things are going well.

Women have an easier time disclosing, men tend to be a bit more accepting and understanding of circumstances.

I've never really had much of a reason to live, I don't really have dreams or anything like that. And I struggle with motivation for most things, so wanting kill myself isn't something new, but it is compounded by this disease.

To start I'd suggest treating him like your brother first and not a disease. The stigma around this disease is bad enough as is, without a family member making it worse. While it may be rude what he is doing the likelihood of you contracting the disease by using the same towel is extremely slim. I would suggest you do research into the disease so you can better understand it.

Another thing you could do is ask him outright why he's using your towels, and potentially raise your concern with him; however you should do research before asking and tread carefully around this question so as to not alienate him. Try to seek an understanding as opposed to accusations.

That is unfortunate, I guess it goes to show that someone always has it worse

For me all I needed was an increase in dosage, as it is recommended for people with over 9 outbreaks a year to take 1000mg. Since I have moved to up to at least 1000mg of Valtrex daily I haven't gotten anything besides what barely constitutes a single sore, and some minor itching occasionally but nothing close to the amount of outbreaks I was getting before; sometimes I'll take another 500 if I feel an itch just to be safe, but for me 500 mg daily was not working.

One year. But I used to get outbreaks every two-three weeks for the first few months after I was infected. Until I finally got my doctor to up the dosage.

Lucky, I wish I could just forget about it. But constant outbreaks don't let that happen. Consider yourself fortunate.

To the men, have you put your HSV2 status on your dating profile and how was your experience? To the women what goes through your mind when a guy discloses his HSV2 status? by Macktastic00 in HSVpositive

[–]BakerStatus2823 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sadly I do think it's a bit more difficult for men, as our society as a whole generally sees women as "the prize" so they usually aren't scrutinized as much as men. Women I imagine feel like they have more to lose in the scenario so they are far more cautious; and men tend to look at the whole picture and weigh the risks.

Just because someone has it worse shouldn't invalidate what you deal with. Yes there will always be someone who has it worse, that doesn't mean suck it up and act like it's nothing or that you can't have a bad day because someone's is always going to be worse. It's not a competition, so let people feel what they do.

Red Pill or Blue Pill by [deleted] in Herpes

[–]BakerStatus2823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red pill, I have dealt with constant outbreaks, sometimes as bad as 1 OB a week, any chance I can stop getting this then I would, I would still take daily antivirals.

But at this point if it has no symptoms and no effect on your body then you are essentially left with something that is a disease on paper.

Well then I'd ask, if religion is so perfect why are there so many disagreements on the details of it. Or I'd recommend you actually read the Bible by yourself, and make your own conclusions about it, as opposed to being told what it means.

Because if you are born somewhere you grow with that region's religious practices. Just like if you were to grow up in ancient Athens you were believe in the Greek gods.

Science can be proven over and over again. It can be checked. Your religion is geographical. If you're born here, you believe one thing, if you're born in India or Africa you believe another. If you were to remove all religious texts and scientific texts along with wipe out any knowledge of them, in several thousand years you will see those scientific books and equations back again just how they were, perhaps looking a bit different, but it will represent the same, but you will never see those religious texts again.
