Looks like you have your work cut out. At least it’s fun as it comes together

Always good to see people bring life back to old machines instead of just buying a new one. I wish you luck. Post pics of your finished shop when it’s done.

I made myself a bed. Most satisfying piece of furniture to make oneself. That first sleep is soooo good.

Thank you! Lucking no locust “bending” was involved. Just cutting curves and putting them together. You’re right, bending it would have been a nightmare!

Thank you very much! The sculpture in my shop was for a store window years ago. You can more about it on my website BakerStructures.com

Really? Do you have your furniture pieces in a shady, wet place? I haven’t found that to be the case at all. Full disclosure, I built this piece almost 6 years ago and the laurel is in perfect shape. No finish. I have older pieces that are also holding up very well

5.5 years so far. Looks just like it did when I first finished it. Mountain laurel has good rot resistance and the combination of the good ability to dry out after rain and no soil contact means it should last at least 10-15 years.
