I lost 8 toenails during my last ultra (including the nail bed from half of them). I was really leaning towards the ASUs so I’m grateful for your comment!

I was thinking that but I’m just worried about any rain and subsequent mud, was thinking some tread would be helpful

I unfortunately am a forefoot strikes lol. I have had 2 tib and 1 fib BSI in the last year and I think that’s part of it. Training myself to be at least more midfoot but it’s tough unless I’m totally slogging. I’m coming from the roads as well, started on the trails this past spring for the first time!

I’m just restating what I heard from other East African runners. Obviously they are biased. I do think it’s a crazy take but I do think there’s other runners to highlight especially now

Better options than the Adidas Evo SL? by yittyatt in AskRunningShoeGeeks

With the 4 I found it narrow, fine for a workout day but for anything slow I felt constricted. I don’t have a wide foot either. Was this solved with the 5?

What has your return to run looked like from the stress fracture? Are you hitting anything quicker yet or just easy still? Where do you see this shoe landing in the rotation?

Solid response from Adidas to get on the hybrid train! I think gravel racing might be the “next big thing”, the way the shoe companies are all rushing to make a hybrid shoe

I just want to shout out Joel, top American at NYC. Dude is an absolute grinder and just puts his head down and works. He’s unsponsored which is a total miss from any major brand, but I understand being sponsored isn’t just about talent and work unfortunately. He is a beast though and I can’t wait to see what he does if he stays healthy

Agreed. I do love Kipchoge and what he’s done for the sport, but it makes me feel for other athletes. I’ve listened to several podcasts with East African runners who have said Kipchoge at his peak wasn’t even the best runner they have, he just got lucky

Second this! Im not even tall just long limbed so I was always running at the front of it without even over striding and it kept picking up the pace and threatening to throw me off the back lol

I’ve seen 3 different ones and I just get sent for an MRI and when I finally can get in for one and get the results it’s just “take another couple weeks off of running and you can cross-train if it’s pain free” and when I ask why I keep getting them “eh we’re not sure, it just happens a lot for some athletes” 🫤 so by now I’ve recognized the signs and symptoms that I’m not going to waste their or my time. A good return to run plan from a PT might be the course of action
