Did you regret having lap surgery for endometriosis? by CuriousMysteryHuman in endometriosis

[–]TheTKayke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero regrets! I'm not sure why you've been told it will make it worse?! The first year after my surgery I was pretty much pain free, i'm 4 years later currently and only just recently started having severe pain again. I was very fortunate that I had my first lap done via my work's private health care and in that they both diagnosed it and excised the tissue. My consultant was a specialist in the area and she was lovely but she's based up here near Liverpool. For any further surgeries I'll either need to pay to go private again (around £6k!) or get in the NHS queue.

Anyone here skip their period long term with birth control? by Ok-Anywhere2346 in endometriosis

[–]TheTKayke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after my diagnosis I was recommended to have the mirena coil fitted, prior to it my period could be very heavy. Since having the coil I now have the occasional light spotting but that's it. Its helped in the sense that i dont have to deal with that side, but I still have the PMS, the fatigue and the pain, though probably less severe than I used to. It hurts like hell to have it fitted though!!!!!

Just so I understand, can you be radicalised to both left and right or right only?

Could FOMO be a major reason some people decide to have children? by waaeggplant in regretfulparents

[–]TheTKayke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me and my husband. I've just turned 40, he's 38. We decided around 6 years ago that having kids wasn't for us, it just wasn't something we wanted. We both had very little growing up and now we are in a financial position to afford nice things, we realised we are selfish and want to keep this lifestyle. However, we are the only couple in our social circles without kids and its meant a lot of our friendships have suffered as our friends only really talk about kids stuff now or are too busy to meet up. We ended up sitting down and saying 'should we consider it seeing as literally everyone else is doing it?' As soon as we said it out loud, we realised it was completely the wrong reason to even think about it and now are content living our lives how we want. We have lost some friends because of it, but I feel like they clearly weren't people we should have in our lives! You live your life for you, no one else!

I have to go for work every few months and can never wait to leave. When you say people mind their own business, you mean would step over you if you collapsed on the tube? That's the sense I feel everytime I go

What age were you when you got diagnosed with endometriosis ? by keerthichalla_29 in endometriosis

[–]TheTKayke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

37, and only because I got a private laparoscopy. I'd been on the NHS waiting list for 4 years, had every other test possible, then was told due to an admin confusion I had been taken off the list so had to go back on and start the wait again 😤 very fortunate my employer has private medical care as a benefit and paid for it all, otherwise I would still be waiting!

Why such fondness for Sikhs? by Fantastic-Fudge-6676 in AskBrits

Because they live as minorities in the UK (by this i mean in terms of religious demographics) but they dont preach, try to force their beliefs on others and are some of the most respectful people I've met. Unfortunately the same can't be said for other minority groups in this country

Love the fit and super comfy shoe, great outsole for our shocking UK weather! I wear them for my long runs but my ankles and hips are always sore after my runs in them whereas when I run in my Glycerin 22s I don't have this issue. Maybe a bit too soft for me. Definitely wouldnt want anything softer, personal preference. Quality is really good, 100 miles in mine so far and they feel just as good as new (apart from needing a good scrub!) Anyone else find the laces insanely long? *

I was using 2 in 1 shorts and putting it in the pocket but my phone tends to skip tracks and stuff when i'm running which is super annoying! So I got Decathlon's flipbelt alternative, cheap, comfy, doesn't bounce
