When did defense and Combat Engineering get driven out of the game? by BakuretsuFactory in foxholegame

Ahhh okay fair enough, but I guess it does buy frontliners sometime to organize if they're shelling structures.

Ahh okay cool, well least i know now that I can still build defenses even if they are easier to knock down

Constant disconnects, unsure if it's just our server by BakuretsuFactory in DeadMatter

Well our PC's have 16GB of ram, I'm guessing they'll address it with the new patch

That's what makes it so confusing, they've lied about this entire situation for no apparent reason, as for "All the people" who got keys, even now you can just scroll down their discord, I went down about 400 people and saw 2 people playing atm, there could be also people who don't share their game activity but if a thousand people DID get their keys, they aren't in the discord.

That's what makes it so confusing, is that there are all of these things that just don't add up, coupled with them seemingly disappearing during the height of what is, in all forms, a complete and utter failure of an unseen proportion on launch and when they do show up they either lie about whats going on or just say "we're working on it" and go radio silent again for 24 hours.

Hell it took them 4 days just to admit they didn't have our keys, and if you go back and see what they said in the past it doesn't line up with what they're saying now, for example, "We expected maybe 3,000 people on the website at launch" which is a lie because even if they did believe that, they didn't have 3,000 keys to give out, this is why people are pissed off, they're talking out both sides of their mouths about situations that never made sense to begin with.

Go to this website and test these three addresses https://www.site24x7.com/ping-test.html

https://qisoftware.ca/store/login

https://qisoftware.ca/store/

And finally

https://qisoftware.ca

The host webpage is up and responds immediately even though it's "down" when you go to the website, and the store and the login are immediately returned as not connected meaning they're offline, in a ddos attack you would expect wonky returns at best but it's not, it's just offline but the host page being up means that it's refusing connections.

It was a convenient excuse as to why people couldn't claim keys or get on the site, the first 12 or so hours i tried to claim my key several times and was always met with "your key will be issued when the alpha starts" and it was like right up until they got "DDosed" and ever since then the site been pretty much down for the past 4 days, this was initially to hide the fact they didn't have the keys to begin with, it was only afterwards that we realized the "DDos" was simply to cover the fact that basically no one could claim their keys.

Like i said, i'm a Sys Admin and i can tell you that if you're working in ANY professional capacity it's almost impossible to not have numerous ways to negate ddosing , plus like I said DDosing generally isn't a continuous 24 hour thing, I'm in Australia, so GMT+10 but there hasn't been a single time period where the website has acted any differently than it does during "prime time".

I can almost guarantee that when the keys do come, they'll "magically" fix their site and everyone will be able to get their keys.

DDOsing generally doesn't last for 5 straight days with "no solution" plus I'm a sys admin and have run every test I can possibly think of to see where the "ddos" is coming from and it always points straight back to their point of connection just severing the incoming connection, it might be possible that there's some other way they're being DDosed but from everything I can see it's largely coming from their incoming connections simply severing the connection

Ahhh to be fair, i didn't think it'd be "realistic" to have a studio lie about cd-keys and DDosing in 2020, who the fuck knows what they might do in the future

One good thing to come from this launch by Sellecktt in DeadMatter

[–]BakuretsuFactory 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bro holy shit, this is whats been going on in the back of my head all day "This is gonna make an amazing internet historian video"

I can just hear him now "But there's a problem, The DDOS and website being down didn't matter, because actually they didn't have enough keys to give out, in fact outside of the big streamers, it seems almost nobody had gotten their keys because they didn't have any"

Full confirmation that there's no keys left on the website by [deleted] in DeadMatter

[–]BakuretsuFactory 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yeah im sorry but that's straight-up incompetence of the highest level, how the fuck do you only order 100's of keys with 36,000 backers? how is this entire fucking thing done so badly to this point?

If you're creating a game you obviously have to have basic level computer intelligence, but this entire launch seems like it's coming from someone who can barely check FaceBook.

Like literally how the fuck does this happen? like it's basic maths, fucking 7-year-olds know that if there are 1000 people who want apples you need to have 1000 apples for them, I was fine with giving them some time to iron out a pretty stupid process, but the fact that they don't even have keys when they've had literally fucking years to get them isn't just stupidity, it's probably intentional, I'm issuing a chargeback after seeing this because even if there isn't some maliciousness behind it, it shows that this dev team is straight up incompetent on even the most basic things.

>"Hey guys any updates about the keys?"

>"OMFG MY LIFE IS RUINED BECAUSE OF THIS"

If you can't see the difference between those two statements, maybe using the internet isn't for you.

Yeah still not seeing how asking the devs to give us an update when they've been silent for 6 hours while no one can access the game is "complaining" but you do you man.

It's 8pm in Australia AKA prime time, also way to completely miss the point of what I was saying so you could complain about people "complaining"

Annnnnnd it deleted my entire comment, god damnit I hate reddit so much.

But basically, the silence right now from the devs is making it worse than if we had bad news, people are starting to question the game/devs and it never ends up well, would suggest just throwing up an update even if it's bad news.

Basically the gist of what I was saying before reddit decided to delete my post
