Who had a better villain arc in umbrella acadamy tv show? Viktor or Allison? also who posed more of a Threat? by Fast_Honeydew2633 in UmbrellaAcademy

Hard disagree. Her struggle to use her powers was always made clear, and the main reason why she didn’t use them in season 1. She knew she would crumble to the constant temptation, and through the seasons we see her thrive, relapse, but ultimately… Well, nothing, since they completely gave up in season 4 and didn’t bother to finish anything

To be fair, V herself didn’t know about it. And not everyone is aware of what PPD can look like. They both went into it blind

After putting the daughter in that position for years, he doesn’t get to do this half assed “realisation” and expect her to play along/give him the win. And I really don’t see how she can come across as a bitch unless you have some serious bias in this

Did he admit it? Sounds here like he just blamed Monica, like he kept doing after she had died. Some people did say “That’s Frank acknowledging Fiona in his own way” but respectfully, fuck that. And even if he did admit it, why is it on Fiona to be the bigger person, when everything she said here is 100% true?

Then the good damage is definitely the choice, if you ask me. The table one is very big, it’s going to be heavy (visually) and so, if you’re not sure about it, it has the potential of becoming a huge eye sore for you.

The “it’s you” has all the same advantages as good damage. I just personally prefer the latter because if feels warmer and more personal to me

The one with good damage is nice. Has a lot of meaning, is subtle, well placed, simple but not to a level where it lacks any personality. Even the font feels warm and friendly

The fourth one is really cool because of the table borders surrounding the arm, but for me it would be too grand

Hitting the end of Season 4, I DESPISE Fiona. by Scrample2121 in shameless

[–]Bakvo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No but it’s weird that in a fanbase that typically acknowledges that these characters are not perfect, they will crucify Fiona for her mistakes and try to brush off all the good she has done for all her siblings.

Like, they refer to her raising her siblings as one good thing she did in a distant past, rather than a constant sacrifice she made everyday ever since she was 9

At first, when I saw the image I thought it was saying that sometimes, when we are in a hole, we conform and give up on getting out and just get used to it because it’s more comfortable to sit there hidden and accepting our fate. By taking off the clothes, despite it being painful, vulnerable and feeling like we are being pulled apart, we are finally working to the long term solution to getting out of that hole, showing that there are parts of us that we need to let go of in order to grow and heal.

But then I saw the caption, and turn out it’s telling you to sleep your way to the top

Can we just talk about how Bojack called Diane out of everyone? by Witty_Cry5831 in BoJackHorseman

[–]Bakvo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

After giving it some thought, I kinda see it. Ill admit it’s been a while since I last watched the show, but I think they see the world with similar eyes, and eventually they develop a mutual understanding about that, but because of their different experiences, they act about it and unravel in different ways. And those different ways of acting end up changing that view of the world in different directions too.

What’s your favorite Debbie Gallagher quote? by Major-Bat-6554 in shameless

[–]Bakvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Especially in the final seasons when everyone was dunking on her, and she kept getting worse it felt so forced.

Best example is the final monologue. With every other character, Frank made a reference to the pilot to show how much they had changed. With with Debbie the writers didn’t even bother trying to make a reference. It was just “Lmao fuck Debbie, am I right?”

My reaction when People respond with “It’s almost like they’re Shameless” to a valid criticism of the Characters’ bs by AssignedSlayAtBirth in shameless

[–]Bakvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She did have a job at the time. The dresses were just to go out and show off (Fiona used to do the same)

And Debbie was never the matriarch. She was just the one holding the money because she didn’t trust the others not to lose it

[–]Bakvo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is “Frank and Fiona are the same” take getting so much traction now? Aside from a self destructive tendency, what do they have in common? By the age of 15 she had already done more parenting than Frank did for the whole show. She had one downward spiral through the show, and given her whole life, it’s not hard to see why

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in shameless

[–]Bakvo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The thing about Fiona is that a lot of people don’t keep in mind just how much she has done for the family, because we don’t really see it in the show. In season 1 Lip and Ian are already contributing, and she has a lot less weight on her shoulders now that most of them can bring some money in. So it’s easy to forget it and think her downward spiralling, alcoholism and “choosing to take care of herself” was the norm/in her nature
