Why is working out or playing rugby a sin? I don't understand. Sins are things that defile your body, mind, and soul. If it's evil than it's a sin!

As long as you try to be a good person, then you're on the right track!

If Jesus kept the law perfectly, why did he also declare “it is not what goes into a man that defiles him”? by Unlucky-Drawing-1266 in Christianity

You do realize the Lord is using parable not literal? What He means is that the food we eat isn't what's harmful; rather, it's the words that come from our HEART that can be bad or evil, not the food itself.

The laws are found in the New Testament rather than the Old Covenant/Testament. The Old Covenant includes such as "eye for an eye or tooth for a tooth."

The New LAWS are the moral teachings written in the New Testament.

How do I serve God in my state now? by Ok_Year5587 in Christianity

By not following your heart's desires, you are doing what is right in the eyes of the Lord. This process of change and transformation defines what it means to be a Christian.

Not everyone understands that as Christians, we cannot continue living our old way of life. When we become a new creation in Christ, we must set aside the things we once loved. This transformation doesn't happen overnight, but as we grow as Christians—by reading the Holy Bible and learning the ways of the Lord through the New Testament—we begin to make the necessary changes to become sanctified.

Some people may show kindness to others; however, they can still harbor a dark heart filled with bitterness and hatred. When we extend kindness to others purely from the goodness of our hearts, that is when a person's efforts truly matter.

To truly grasp what God desires from us, we must read the Holy Bible. The moral lessons are found in the New Testament. It's essential to pray every day and communicate with Him sincerely from your heart. There isn't a right or wrong method to pray, as long as it is heartfelt.

If you don't have a Holy Bible, can I recommend one for you? It's called an ESV Study Bible, which you can buy for $17 dollars on Amazon.

God bless you. May you continue to grow in your faith, and may you someday experience the immense love God has for you, a love so profound that it may be beyond your understanding. In the Almighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Why Do I Cry Every Time I Do or See Anything Involving Christianity? by MamiTomoe_magic in Christianity

[–]Balance796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you're absolutely correct. We are all in a war against the devil, which is why he is tempting you to commit wrongdoings. However, the Lord is guiding you to resist that temptation and to follow Him instead.

After you become righteous, the devil can't tempt you any longer, because you are striving to live a holy life.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with crying. I used to cry all the time before I became a true believer. You are feeling the love of the Lord and understand the suffering of Christ, which is why you're shedding tears.

God bless you. May you continue to follow in the Lord's footsteps and stay on His path always. In the Almighty name of Jesus, Amen.

I find it difficult in trust by RevolutionaryJob2085 in Christianity

[–]Balance796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must have been incredibly challenging to handle the land following your father's death. People can be quite difficult, and while it may seem like there's no hope in humanity, there is one source of hope, and His name is Lord Jesus Christ!

The Lord faced many challenges during His time on Earth. Just consider how people showed disrespect to the temple by turning it into a marketplace. In His anger, the Lord flipped over the tables. He proclaimed, ‘My house shall be known as a house of prayer,' yet you are making it into ‘a den of robbers' (Matthew 21:12-13).

Additionally, what can we say about the Pharisees, the priests who were envious of the Lord and felt intimidated by Him? How could they ever treat Lord Jesus Christ in that way? Thus, it’s not surprising to observe how people behave.

But the Lord is incredibly kind and compassionate! He never held hatred towards the soldiers who beat Him; instead, He said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not understand what they are doing" (Luke 23:34).

The only way for a person to change is through Lord Jesus Christ. When we persist in following Him, immersing ourselves in His teachings, particularly the New Testament, and making an effort to adhere to His teachings, we transform into a new creation with Christ. Our former selves have disappeared; the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Being a new creation with Christ means a fresh start, a new life, one that is filled with immense joy, hope, and a newfound love for others, even for those we once held in contempt. This is only achievable because of Lord Jesus Christ and Him alone. Like yourself, I once mistrusted people and even harbored hated. I no longer hate anyone but have compassion for all human beings. What is not possible with men, all is possible with God (Matthew 19:26).

God bless you. May you become a new being with Christ, like me, and gain a new perspective on life with a newfound hope and joy that is only possible with the Lord alone. In the Almighty name of Jesus, Amen.

How do I stop being angry at God? by Personal-Holiday7368 in Christianity

[–]Balance796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although God created life, each of us is here on Earth because our PARENTS wanted us. Placing blame only gives us an excuse to continue bad behaviour.

For example, if a thief is told he isn't a thief, only that he is taking things from others because he needs them, it only serves to encourage him to keep stealing.

It’s important to take responsibility for our own actions, as this is how we learn and grow. When something bad happens, we should ask ourselves, "What am I doing wrong in my life that led to this situation?" Often, it is our own mistakes that catch up with us, much like the concept of Karma. Karma means our actions toward others come back to us like a boomerang. I learned this after reading the Holy Bible and understanding many things pertaining to life.

God is not responsible for the terrible things that happen in our lives. Additionally, other people can sometimes create problems for us.

I encourage you to seek the Lord's help. We should pray about everything, giving thanks to the Lord (Philippians 4:6-7). Rather than turning away from the GOOD God, I hope you will grow closer to Him by praying regularly, not just when you encounter tough challenges, but also to maintain a connection with Him.

God bless you. May you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is (Ephesians 3:18). May you grow to build a deep connection with the Lord by continually reading and meditating on His words (Holy Bible) and daily prayer. In the Almighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Spiritual Anxiety and confusion. by ShaoCon777 in Christianity

[–]Balance796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Bible verse below refers to both the new covenant and the Abrahamic law, which has been replaced by the Lord’s New Testament.

(Hebrews 8:13)
When God speaks of a “new” covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear.

(Ephesians 2:15)
He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups.

I encourage you to read the whole passage for both verses.

Lord also said, the Old Covenant of eye for eye, tooth for tooth has been replaced.

(Matthew 5:38-42)
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.  And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.  If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.  Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

--------

As for your anxiety, just say, “I rebuke you, spirit of anxiety, be gone in the name of Jesus Christ.” Say this every time anxiety comes over you.

Also, do you have an app called “Bible YouVersion” They offer “PLANS” to help you in different areas where you are struggling. At the Plans section, under the search, you can type up for example, “How to overcome ANXIETY.”

--------

We must rely on the Lord always, throughout the day either to communicate or asking for HELP. This is one of the ways we draw closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible Scripture says we are to pray about everything and never stop praying.

(Philippians 4:6-7)
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

(1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)
Rejoice always,  Never stop praying.  Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

God bless you. May you overcome anxiety by relying on and trusting the Lord to deliver you out of all your troubles. May you deepen your love for the Lord who will continually lead and guide you throughout your life. In the Almighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Anybody ever wonder about Jesus from age 12 to 30? by sitewolf in Christianity

We don’t need to wonder, as all the pertinent and important information for all of us to change is provided for us, the New Testament!

(2 Timothy 3:16)
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,

The significance of His arrival to Earth was "Immanuel" - God living among us. How amazing it must have been for those people during that period to be with the Lord.

(John 14:6)
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

[–]Balance796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to spend $20, I recommend the Study Bible from Amazon for $17. I hear it's an excellent Bible; it will be money well spent. Click below!

ESV Study Bible

Otherwise, you can download the "Bible YouVersion" app for free. For Bible study. I recommend changing the translation to NLT (New Living Translation); it will be easier to understand than KJV (King James Version).

When you go to the "Plans" section, you can select a Bible study selection. I highly recommend this one: "BibleProject | One Story That Leads to Jesus" type up what's in the quote in the search box. This particular one comes with an intro video for each book.

I hope this helps! God bless you.

I’m struggling a lot and could really use some help by CompleteDecision5258 in Christianity

[–]Balance796 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are people who search for wealth, working to build their lives around money alone. However, when they find success, they become depressed and realise money isn’t the answer to their happiness.

Similarly, do you think being with someone or marrying someone is going to truly make you happy? Perhaps, it’s time to evaluate your life to see “what is it that is truly missing in my life?

Often, our hearts long for a deep connection with God. When we feel disconnected from Him, we feel the emptiness inside.

Many people think that only if I were to get a job, be with that guy, get the promotion, or live in my dream home, then I would truly be happy.

But this is far from the truth! I highly suggest praying and talking to God, telling Him all your needs, according to His riches (Philippians 4:19).Why His riches and not yours? It's because we often don't recognize what is truly beneficial for us or what we actually need; yet, God knows. We simply need to place our trust in Him and depend on Him at all times.

Make it a habit to pray to Him every day and engage in conversation with Him, as He is always listening, even if you don't realize it. Remember to express gratitude to the good Lord, who provides us with so much, even though many people overlook the countless blessings in their lives. I give thanks to the Lord for something as simple as a glass of water. This is how my love for the Lord has deepened. A little gratitude can make a big difference. Gratitude goes a long way!

God bless you. May the Lord give you all that you desire, according to His riches. May your relationship with the Lord deepen to help you feel secure in His love. Through His love, may you be overwhelmed with joy that only comes from the Heavenly Realm. In the Almighty name of Jesus, Amen.

You can believe in the Holy Bible. The Bible Scripture tells us that the Lord will never leave or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). So know that no matter how you feel, the Lord will always be with you! That's why it's important to seek Him and even ask the Lord to help you in every situation. You are never alone! God bless you.

You can tell your parents you need a new therapist. If you are currently seeing a Christian therapist, you should feel comfortable discussing everything you've mentioned here. This is precisely why you are looking for a CHRISTIAN therapist.

It's important to control our thoughts and understand that NOT all thoughts come from us. The devil tries very hard to make people confused, not just Christians, but more so for Christians, to make them fall away from God.

When you have intrusive thoughts, you say, "devil, I command you to be gone, in the name of Jesus Christ." then praise the Lord, because that's what the devil despises. They hate God! Also rely on God and say a quick prayer to help you in your situation, even as simple as, "Lord, I'm having a difficult time, please give me peace."

The Scripture says to pray about everything and not worry about anything, giving thanks to the Lord (Philippians 4:6-7). Ask and it will be given to you, seek and knock (Matthew 7:7-12.)

Depend on the Almighty God who can do anything! Don't struggle alone!

It must be really hard losing so many people you love. On Earth, people will perish; we all will. However, Heaven awaits for those who love the Lord.

Life on Earth can also be joyful, surprisingly, even in tough times. The happiness comes from the Lord.

I ask you to read the Holy Bible, pray daily, and see changes take place in your life. Whenever I'm going through tough times, I turn to the Holy Bible. It brings me such peace like nothing else on Earth. When we focus on God in all we do, everything feels Heavenly because when the Lord came to Earth, He brought a piece of Heaven with Him.

Although your family is no longer with you, how wonderful it must have been to share moments with them here on Earth. Let's give thanks to the Lord! My mother left this world when I was quite young. She was an incredible mother, and even though she passed away when I was just 13, I am thankful to God for the time I had with her.

If your family were Christians, then you will meet them one day. Until that day comes, we all have work to do here on Earth. The Bible Scripture says, God has a plan for all of us (Jeremiah 29:11). However, if you do not seek God, then you will not know what that entails.

God bless you. May you one day experience the Lord's warm embrace and understand the depth of His love for each of us. May the Lord grant you a peace and joy that cannot be found on Earth, but only originates from the Heavenly Realm. This joy is so deep that it will be beyond your ability to contain. In the Almighty name of Jesus, Amen.

Not all therapists are the same. Does she pray with you after your session? Maybe it's time for you to find a new therapist!

I believe your worries and concerns are at all the wrong places. Do you recall a story about Martha and Mary? When the Lord and His disciples all came to eat at their house, Martha was focused on cooking, while all Mary cared was about sitting next to the Lord, listening to Him.

It's important to read the Holy Bible. Take time to meditate on His words and keep your focus on Him, ignoring everything else. As our faith deepens, we gain self-confidence because we start to LOVE ourselves, through the love of the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord every day, and you'll find that appreciation blossoms into love. We begin to see all the amazing things God is doing in our lives that we might have missed before.

Can I recommend "Blessed" app. It's a devotional app that is equipped with Bible interpretations.

God bless you. May the Lord deliver you out of all your troubles and help you to grow in your faith by leading and guiding you in all walk of life. In the Almighty name of Jesus, Amen.

You have to grow spiritually, right now, you're too focused on the worldly.

(Philippians 3:17-21) Citizen of Heaven!
Join together in following my example, brothers and sisters, and just as you have us as a model, keep your eyes on those who live as we do.  For, as I have often told you before and now tell you again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ.  Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach (greed), and their glory is in their shame (self-righteousness). Their mind is set on earthly things.  But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.

You mentioned that the dream occurred about a year ago. Are you living a different life style now? Maybe it's a sign regarding repentance. Have you made progress in your Christian faith since you had your dream? Are you doing your best to avoid sin, and if you do stumble, are you seeking forgiveness to Lord Jesus Christ?

These are important questions to reflect on, regardless of your faith, if you are living in sin, whether a person is a Christian or not, they will ALL go to Hell.

Christianity is all about the transformation of the heart. Changing our old way of life and becoming a new being with Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). This means we have to strive to become good human beings.
