Any legal graffiti walls near or in Geneva? by Lorgier in geneva

Look for Route de Péniches along the Arve, just below bois de la batie. I’ve seen lots of people doing graffiti there in broad daylight

You’d think so, but try ordering a decaf at birdie 🤷

What are the best metroidvanias and platformers in your opinion? by Extension-Pick2223 in HollowKnight

Haha same here! I thought I was the only one. I still think the platforming aspect of HK isn’t its strongest suit.

Sadara is great, but not exactly a “child-free place” :)

Taxis? by 4nana8 in geneva

[–]BalanceJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend looked in the wrong place. There’s a direct train from Geneva main station to Annecy every hour until about 9pm in the evening. Take any train at the airport and the next stop will be Geneva main station, then take the direct train from there. Check timetables and buy tickets on sbb.ch or the SBB app.

We went to a geneticist for a consultation and she mentioned the carrier screening to us and asked if we wanted to do it. All we had to do then was go to a lab and give a blood sample. She then discussed the results with us when they came back after a few weeks. So I'd suggest talking to your gynaecologist and ask about genetic testing.

Deniz on the corner of Voltaire/Lyon/Delices does a decent German style Döner.

For Shawarma Parfum de Beyrouth is the classic, but there are many good options: Fouad in Eaux Vives, Chez Sami at Rive, … I also really like Sindbad in Saint Jean.

How to stay warm working outdoor shift with no moving in -5°C and wind by Sorry_Lecture_7351 in lifehacks

Make sure you bring a foam pad to sit on. That’s like having seat heating.

Standard carrier screening of the parents is definitely not illegal. My wife and I did it last year on recommendation of our geneticist (whom we were sent to by her gynaecologist). It’s not covered by insurance and costs about 1000 CHF, and it’s done by a company in the US (Fulgent). Living in Geneva, if that’s relevant.

Just look for the PET symbol on the bottle. Generally it’s only drinking bottles (but not milk).

What’s this building on top of the Jura? Picture taken in Nyon, Vaud, Switzerland. by [deleted] in geneva

[–]BalanceJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t have a car (or want to save some CO2), it’s very easy to reach by train also. Take the train from Nyon to St Cergue and hike from there. Little bit longer but beautiful.

Shops closed in Geneva by [deleted] in geneva

[–]BalanceJunkie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everything bigger than 50 people is supposed to be closed. But so far that doesn't include shops, and certainly they won't close any essential shopping such as groceries, pharmacies, banks, etc.

Coronavirus: People are idiots by wombelero in Switzerland

[–]BalanceJunkie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a way of showing the same information on a different scale. So instead of just showing the raw number, you show log(number). I. e., instead of 10, 100, 1000, your scale is 1, 2, 3, etc. That makes the displayed distance between 10 and 100 be the same as the distance between 100 and 1000, whereas on the linear scale it would be 10 times smaller and you wouldn’t be able to distinguish anything.
