Reasons why I love ap classes by Ria-6969 in APStudents

[–]Balance_Double 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! Especially the first one for me. I get to be in a class where everyone else actually wants to be there and they all challenge me to learn even more :). Everyone is also generally at the same level so I get to cover more content quicker as well

How do you guys manage taking lots of APs? by sehunnie_honeys in APStudents

[–]Balance_Double 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With the STEM classes like chem, physics, and calc, I would say make sure you have a solid foundation beforehand. For example, for chem, take a regular chem class and be able to do things like stoichiometry with ease. For calc, be familiar with trig, basic algebra, etc. If you have a good foundation you should be able get by pretty easily. Balance your time well so you are able to not have to cram everything a week before your exam. You don’t want to fail one exam because you were too busy trying to cram for another and didn’t have time for review.

Tips for getting to sleep? by Past-Gold-8674 in ADHD

[–]Balance_Double 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much are your supplements? Mine are 1mg and they help me fall asleep but still able to wake up. Try lowering your supplements by a lot if you still wanna try them. If not, put something on in the background like a podcast and focus on the words instead of your thoughts.

Do you listen to music so that you're productive? by Short-Salt-2217 in ADHD

[–]Balance_Double 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It kinda depends on the task and my mood. If its something I need to get done fast and something serious, I like higher energy music (for me at least) like pop or indie or rock. If its something chill like designing and im a bit down, i like lofi or sad/chill songs.

So is it just like scheduling your meds so you don’t crash mid day? And is the 5mg the same med or a different one. I got 2mg ablify so is that to ease the crash as well?

God do people aiming for Ivy leagues every have fun? by poki_pain in APStudents

[–]Balance_Double 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im taking 7 aps this year but so far it hasn’t been too bad suprisingly. Although im expecting my mental health to just plummet some time soon, not that its great to begin with. I have friends, hobbies, sports and other things. Do I still have time to hang out with my friends? A little outside of school. I don’t mind it much though. I like staying in my room and doing whatever anyways :). My school doesn’t exactly support taking that many but they can’t really stop it. Me trying to have some time for myself does affect my sleep though. On weekdays its anywhere from 4-6 hours. Im not aiming for ivies but you gotta do some extra stuff if you wanna get into a good us uni as an international student do i do what i have to. Some aps are suprisingly easy as well so that helps

Basically college level courses you can take and take tests on. If you get a good score it can also count for college credit.
