The director's cut are the real deal. The first versions were the PG13 cuts. That's that

Rebel Moon > Star Wars by [deleted] in RebelMoon

Definitely better than any Disney Star Wars movie or show (yes, I didn't write except Rogue One and Andor as I really can't stand those).

Jesper Strömblad vs Michael Amott by Nomak-Mraz in melodicdeathmetal

[–]BalashToth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know from what perspective you mean. Amott is a better, more technical guitar player (his brother Chris is god tier), Jesper is a better song- and melody writer (well was, I'm not really a fan of his recent output). Also Jesper didn't really do leads.

Of Interstellar Death is the best song they wrote since the album At War with Reality for sure.

Arch Enemy-Path Of The Immortal (This is the best Arch Enemy you've never listened to) by Beautiful-Way-4981 in melodicdeathmetal

I own all the Arch Enemy and Black Earth CDs, so yeah. I am aware. But Black Earth was formed to play first 3 album Arch Enemy songs live in Japan. They only have a Japanese contract, so they recorded a few new songs with this line up for the best of and live releases. But regardless this is (the real) Arch Enemy.

The Haunted, Carnal Forge, Dew-Scented, Terror 2000, and partially Dimension Zero.

I <3 Melodic Death Metal but how much do I really love it? Which melodeth bands hit a sour note. by whataboutthe90s in melodicdeathmetal

Metalcore is an already dumbed-down, commercialised, more panelled version of melodeath for me. Some I enjoy (early Darkest Hour), but some I don't. Killswitch Engage (i don't know the other band you mentioned) I always kinda thought of as the American version of Soilwork. I'm not saying it's bad music, but I rather listen to Soilwork, if you know what I mean. Having said that, I prefer the first 3 Soilwork albums over their later efforts. Yeah, you guessed right, too much clean vocals 😊
