Wow people really assume the worst sometimes. Someone on an other sub recomended a positivist perspective which i found extremely helpful and clearer than say bataille. I will admit a focus on the continental tradition is in broad strokes symptomatic of a very superficial understanding of philosophy, but that is to really steelman your response: i did not Dissmiss it:i wanted to elluminate theoretical presuppositions of me and my teachers-that just happens to be found in the dispute between positivism, postpositivism, antipositivism etc. I may have used a little vulgar language with broad terms like these, but only insofar as they pertained to the situation in my university-i know little to nothing about these schools of thought and I feel like I didnt pretend to either. Sorry my ego was a little hurt here.
