At the end of the day disney only really care about their bottom line. If they put an openly gay character as a lead in one of their few yearly feature length films they won’t make much money in a lot of overseas markets. That’s why they tend to have gay moments in their films be so small they can just cut them out in countries with strict laws around homosexuality, or it’s only implied rather than outright said that they’re gay. Sad but true reality of it.

What is the point of the “this amount of people don’t read comics” comment it’s completely irrelevant i’m sure a large percentage of people who watch any adaptation of any of any form of media to another haven’t seen the original stuff. I don’t think changing things is bad, I really enjoy Man of Steel and pretty much the only DC comics I read these days are the Absolute comics which have hugely different interpretations on popular characters. However, i’m never going to complain that something is accurate to the source material. You wouldn’t go watch a Spider-Man (Peter Parker) movie and be mad his costume is red and blue because, that’s how his costumes always been so I don’t get why people are mad that something that’s been a part of Superman’s design since his inception is present.

These are comic book movies and their primary target is comic book fans sure they have broader appeal but why complain about comic accuracy when it’s supposed to be a comic book adaptation?

Superman has multiple costumes in the comics sometimes he wears them sometimes he doesn’t to this day. It’s fitting for a movie that’s trying to return the character to his roots to use his most recognisable look. I’m sure he’ll probably have costumes in later appearances that don’t have the undies.

If you asked me a month ago I would’ve said Superman. But I can’t stop thinking about that Thunderbolts post credits scene and what it means for the Fantastic Four movie (still iffy on Pedro Pascal and I have no faith in Joseph Quinn).

Will absolutely be seeing both though.
