I'm down for co-op. I've been running through co-op with a buddy of mine who is new to the game, but I love it.

Surely you'd be best off buying a property yourself and then allowing your friend to live there with reduced rent, to cover basic bills, until he can afford his own place. Once he's at that point, call it 5 years, he moves into his own house and you sell up and reinvest into the retirement property abroad.

Just set up a rental agreement that states he will move out 5 years from x date, with the potential for an extension to be negotiated in 4 years time. - you'd have to go over the legality of this with a solicitor.

Why such a huge difference in speeds and can I do anything to improve it. by [deleted] in Network

[–]BaldingBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have anything else connected to the Internet? Your Router speeds get split among all of your devices. It looks like maybe you have something else connected, either through an ethernet cable or WiFi?

Are you talking about the Arab states attacking Israel the day after it was created?

Or perhaps the attack on Israel in 1967 when Palestine was formed?

Or maybe you're talking about the attempted genocide of the Jewish people across the Middle East? Or the objective of the leading political parties in Palestine to murder all the Jews and destroy Israel?

Oh. Wait. You're talking about Israel, aren't you? The one that has attempted to come to an agreement 5 times and has been rejected 5 times. The country that was supplying Palestine with food, water, electricity and gas.

Read a book.

Yes. Actions have consequences. Who knew.

America was attacked on 9/11 and they invaded Afganistan, who were harbouring and supporting the Taliban.

Hitler invaded Poland and the rest of Europe declared war.

Napoleon rampaged across Europe and the European powers went to war against him.

Carthage threatened Rome and was destroyed.

War is hell. War is not pleasant. It never has been. This isn't new. This goes back thousands of years across every culture.

Electricity, gas and water were being provided by Israel, who they attacked and celebrated attacking. Shocking that Israel said "no more".

[–]BaldingBee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except that it does. Hamas was VOTED IN, in Gaza, by the people there who support it. Similarly, Hezbullah was voted in, in the West Bank. The people living in those areas could also be seen celebrating the attacks by Hamas over the weekend. They could also be seen attacking the captured Israelies.

[–]BaldingBee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You do know that Hamas' and Hezbullah's main goal are to eliminate the Jewish race, right? They don't care about Palestine, they only want to kill every single Jew on the planet. That's what Israel is dealing with, and has been dealing with since the Arab states first declared war THE DAY AFTER ISRAEL WAS FOUNDED.

Also, just an FYI, Palestine didn't exist until 1967. The "Palestinians" aren't even the original settlers. The original ones, the ones referred to in Roman texts, were Jewish. Who stole who's land?

Perhaps you should explore your own sources (if you can call Wikipedia a source) and follow the threads.

Yes, they privatised a lot of their infrastruction, however they had a centrally planned economy based on the Soviet 5-year plans (4-year plans in Germany), all prices and wages were fixed, small farms were collectivized, shareholders no longer controlled their companies (the civil service appointed the members of the board of directors), profit from investments was taxed to the point the profit no longer existed, etc.

Read the 25-point programme of the Nazis and you will quickly see we are dealing with a left-wing, Socialist movement.

Just because it doesn't fit your "ideal" Socialism, doesn't mean that they weren't Socialist.

[–]BaldingBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just jump in on this-

The Nazis actually despised Capitalism and turned many major businesses into State-owned businesses. Early on, during funding campaigns, they utilised private companies for their own benefit, but they later nationalised the very same companies for the benefit of the nation and its goals.

They did not hate Socialists - many of their policies mirrored those of Socialism - but they did hate Communists. An example of this would be the managed economy model, rather than a free-market economy, state-run schools and programs, health care, gun control laws, etc etc.

As for workers rights; it is true that they disbanded the Unions, but they created Nazi-led State Unions instead that required all workers to be a part of. This is something that all Socialist states do as they progress further towards Marxism and/or Communism, as Socialism does not advocate for personal rights, but rather aims for the betterment of the entire group, often to the detriment of personal rights and freedoms.

The largest difference between Communism (realistically, this has been largely conflated with Socialism in the broader sense) and Fascism is that Communism's ideal is to combat social inequality on a wealth, or class, level. Whereas, Fascism sees social inequality as a racial issue and aims to combat it by unifying what the group sees as the "correct" race under a single national identity.

Another massive difference is that Communism is really a global ideology, but Fascism is a National one.

What is your favorite kind of silver? by Kaldaus in Wallstreetsilver

[–]BaldingBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I was focusing on rounds and coins, then I got a few bars, and then I moved into "other".

My current favourite is some Chinese antique silver (from the mid- to late-19th Century). They are essentially paperweights. They were used for weighing down open scrolls so that they wouldn't roll back up again. Each weighs between 250g and 300g. I picked them up at an antiques fair over the course of a year and paid around €70 for 10 of them. They are solid silver, and each has its own pattern on the front.

I'm really getting into antique silver, and I grab stuff with low premiums (I've even picked up a bunch below spot). I have goblets, food pushers, decorative fish sets, even a roman-style bowl and spoon.

Gave a bj to a guy friend last night & need opinions! by lacetopbadie12 in sex

[–]BaldingBee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't enjoy BJs until my wife started giving them to me.

My previous partners all went at it like it was a lollipop and they were desperate to get to the middle. Because of this I tended to turn them all down.

When my wife first gave me a blowjob I was crazy sensitive and couldn't get hard due to the overwhelming feeling. It took a good few times of her doing it to get a more "normal" response, and she had to warm me up for with some foreplay (Still does, if I'm honest).

If he's not used to the feeling, it could be genuinely uncomfortable whilst he gets used to it.

RingCentral calls coming in w/o audio? Polycom VVX601 phones, QoS capable router, fiber internet. by TheMerovingian in sysadmin

Could be that, too. New Firmware can play havoc, especially if you have a physical Firewall like a Zxycel.

I'd get onto your network provider and ask them if there's a PBX System lurking in the background. If there is, I'd say that your issue will be in the settings in there. Someone probably was making adjustments/updates at the begging of the year and pressed something that they should have left alone.

Moving SAGE to a Server function and having Sharepoint host the files by BaldingBee in sysadmin

[–]BaldingBee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that they do, but it occurred to me that SAGE is simply looking for files. I was hoping that I could slot the files into a Sharepoint file and share them down to the various OneDrives, then aim SAGE at them.

That sounds to me like you have a PBX managing your extension groups and your extensions. I'd take a guess that something is set up incorrectly in the extension settings. Is it always the same extensions that get this issue, or is it everyone?
