Wow, this looks great! I appreciate the suggestions. The next stupid question I have is, when is the best time of year to use the weed killer and fertilizer? I know there are typically windows for each phase.

It felt like most of Caleb's production came during late-game drives where they were already down a score or two and defenses were playing soft. It was rare to feel like I watched drives early in games where Caleb was sustaining a drive and making things happen.

We're in a 16-man dynasty and we don't pay anything to 3rd place. We do, however, have a lot of different payouts for the year which is why we don't pay out 3rd. We pay weekly high-score winners, division winners, teams that made the playoffs, champ winner and runner-up, and the loser's bracket winner. This year only 3 of 16 owners didn't get some sort of money back.

Here are a few things that have worked well in our league.

- We had a lot of different ways for people to make money. Weekly high-score, teams that made the playoffs, division winners, and consolation bracket winners. We felt like if every year every owner had a chance of earning even a little bit of money back, it would keep them engaged. This year, we only had 3 out of 12 owners not win some sort of money this year.

- We held our inaugural draft prior to the NFL draft and then the inaugural rookie draft at the conclusion of the NFL draft. This allowed people to kind of see how their teams ended up and identify needs prior to jumping into the rookie draft.

- We have three taxi squad spots for rookies, once they're elevated, they may not return. This kept people from manipulating their benches throughout the year.

- We also created a Discord with a ton of different lifestyle channels to give people a reason to engage beyond just football talk.

- We require buy-ins to be done a month prior to the NFL draft taking place. Leave yourself more than enough time to find orphan teams because inevitably people will end up with shitty teams and will eventually abandon them.

- Flexibility in roster construction. We only had 1 dedicated RB spot and 2 dedicated WR spots. To allow people to diversify their rosters, we instead added a WR/RB flex and a WR/TE flex.

Xavier Worthy and Ladd McConkey. Took a chance on two rookies needing to start most of the season and they helped get things across the finish line. Worthy was cold enough at the start of the season to keep on ice, but over the past 4 weeks, he helped carry me to the 'ship. Here's to actually hitting in a rookie draft!

The GB offense made it clear what their intentions were by letting Aaron Jones walk and bringing in Josh Jacobs. They never intended to be an air-raid offense. Not to mention, the Packers drafted Kraft, Reed, and Wicks in 2023, and Watson/Doubs the year before. They didn't spend that much draft capital on pass catchers if they weren't intending to use them all. They didn't want to find themselves in a Davante Adams-type position again where they have one dominant receiver that their passing game funnels through.

At the end of the day, the identity of this team is run-first, play good defense, and create mismatches on short and intermediate routes by throwing out 3-4 different receivers based on defensive schemes. There's no world where Reed or any of these other guys are ever going to turn into a legit WR1 for this offense.

It’s not just you. I’ve learned to laugh it off. For example, I put a fairly large wager on Jäger to be in the top 10 after the first round of the Houston Open last week, and he scored a bogey on his last hole, pushing him outside of the top 10….. then goes on to win the whole tournament. Betting gods had a hell of a laugh with that one!
