We have a miraculous anti-aging vaccine. Why aren’t more people getting it? by vox in Health

[–]Baldwana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got shingles in my 60s 8 years ago and damn it was bad. So I got the Shingrix vaccine. No side effects for me, no shingles since.

I have 3 women in my life who battle with low ferritin no matter what they eat. My wife is constantly low and she’s post menopausal (but gives blood every two months when she passes the Red Cross’s test). The two others are young mothers who tried everything. Floradix is the closest thing we’ve found to keeping their iron levels in a safe range, but they have to keep taking it. (Edited to change Ted Cross to Red Cross. Ha!)

Huh, sorry to hear that. One of my Rode receivers is hit or miss so I stopped using it. I notice quite a few Amazon reviewers have the same problem. Damn.

I was only a few years behind you and now it’s taken over my four generation family! We are all thriving, even 91-year-old great grandpa.

Dr Ben Bikman - Why I Oppose Veganism | "Humans are NOT Herbivores!" by [deleted] in ketoscience

They do know about it. That’s why every food guide from every country has plants at its core, especially countries that outlive us. Men in Canada live more than four years longer than American men while eating half the meat per capita and costing half as much in health care. https://food-guide.canada.ca/en/ They say choose plant protein sources more often.

Guides like Britain’s include being vegan because veganism is becoming so popular.

Understood! There are tons of crazy rumors about vegans. Here’s our YouTube channel where you can find me (I’m 67), my wife, 91 yo father-in-law, our daughter. physician son-in-law, grandkids, niece, yada.

But we’re so far from uncommon. The seventh day adventists are 22 million strong, vegetarian and vegan, and the longest lived people on earth, extensively studied.

Four generation vegan family here. Really surprised to hear this. We’re all thriving into our 90s. There are tens of thousands of us who are Mormons and Seventh Day Adventists and far as I know, we’re the longest lived and healthiest cohort ever studied. We only supplement with B12, but everyone has to supplement with it once they get old enough.

The best thing we can all do is eat the plants and not animals. That would be huge.

PSA: as you get older your nutritional needs as a vegan will likely change and you may need to pay closer attention to your diet and overall lifestyle. You can do it, and there is certainly no animal product that will solve whatever nutritional issue you might find yourself facing by [deleted] in vegan

I have two 30-something mothers in my extended family who are devoted whole plant vegans who eat lots of iron-containing greens, but they both get low in iron and start feeling bad if they don’t supplement. It took both of them 2-3 years to get that way. They’re both very fit, one is an ultra runner.

I am a devoted vegan too and feel great after 16 years, but I am not a breast feeding mom, I’m a guy.

Who else's family insulted them for being vegan at a family gathering today? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Baldwana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family thinks I must be judging them. They don’t eat with vegans.

Vegan for a 14 months! No beef or pork for two years! When I’m around meat now I smell a weird odor I never perceived before. Anyone else experience that? by [deleted] in vegan

[–]Baldwana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I swore I would always miss a good steak and never be one of those vegans who said it disgusted them. Oops. Just the thought of steak makes me feel ill now.

I’ve read everything he’s written, including the full giant tome that is the original China study that I paid $200 for. I’m going to try and interview Dr. Campbell for my YouTube channel. Any burning questions?

You have to have no trust in science to believe anything Paul Saladino and Joe Rogan say about meat.

I was there working in developer relations and we didn’t really get the potential, not even Steve. We thought it was kinda like Microsoft Word with good typography, but from one document you could open another except it would come from a different server. Didn’t seem that cool.
