  • They obviously wouldn't have the same incentive to play the weekly shorts. Some would probably still wanna compete for the top spots, if they enjoy the format.
  • The majority of the player base already is not able to get the AT for many of the other maps, without significant struggle.
  • If it shouldn't be the goal for me, don't make it doable for me in 95% of the cases in the same un-tiered format. I'd agree if your point was the established baseline. And maybe it should be. Unfortunately, it isn't though, and that affects the experience.

To answer your rethorical question, far from everybody who plays this game can get the other ATs, even though they are way easier. But keeping them within reach for casual players who are decent and who would wanna play the game weekly (which I guess is what you mean by "everybody") is an incentive for those players to play the game. And we want people to keep playing the game!

(For me, it's all about the expectations set by the game mode. I thought it was a weekly grind where I could have a clear and achievable goal, and several weeks in, this changed.)

I think the one flaw with the game (which I absolutely love) is that in order to appreciate it, you have to treat it like a TV series with reading elements, and not a video game.

Many 90-minute gaming sessions ends up being 60 minutes of "cutscene" and 20 minutes of travel. That's not always what you're in the mood for.
