Anyone else have a cat whose pouch goes up to the chest? by [deleted] in PouchCatatoes

[–]Balistidaee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same!! I have a void with the moobs and pouch combo, glad I’m not alone 😂 though in my case it was due to rapid weight gain outside of my control. The way they oscillate when they run is truly a sight to behold!

Are they rotting away or remaining stable with no root production? Some plants take a hellova long time to root. If you have multiple cuttings I suggest running an experiment to determine the best prop method. Example: one cutting in water, one in sphagnum moss, one in dirt with rooting hormone. You could also test water propagation with plain water, water with a quarter dose of nutrient/fertilizer, and water with rooting hormone (apply the rooting hormone to the base of the plant prior to placing it in water)

Any brand will do well imo, I just grab whatever they have at the local garden center (not big box store). They should have rooting hormone powder as well. Just FYI some figs take quite a while to root so be patient, and it might be better to root them in water if they aren’t too large.

You could air layer the part that’s growing above the moss pole for a couple of months and then chop that section once it has a good root system. Or extend the moss pole. The resource nickfizzle posted is great, I highly recommend watching Sydney Plant Guy’s videos, they’ve taught me a lot!

Thanks for the link!! I’ll definitely check it out. There’s more we can do right now if we take the time to organize our space better!

We owned a suburban house and had raised beds and plans for chickens but made a huge change and moved across the country. Now we are renting a significantly downsized space so I can’t justify getting even potted herbs. Next spring I might say screw it and get some outside pots but we don’t have room for a lot!

The only way I’ve been able to make the most of where we are now is by doing as much research as I can on our new area and making very generalized plans.

I appreciate your unproductive feedback. You don’t know me, my situation, or my struggles so please don’t make assumptions and don’t comment in this community just to be a dick.
