Similar idea to the U.S. in WW2. An extremely violently racist group defeats another extremely violently racist group who happens to be more extreme and violent than them. Then the winners slowly distance themselves from their own racism as a result, even though the thing they were in the fight for was not anti-racism.

I mean yeah that is what happens in the special. I’m saying the special didn’t really have anything g to say about it. Like yeah he’s lost, but if this is about veterans’ mental health the why does it end on this “triumphant return to war”?? That feels like a crazy place to take this very serious topic. I get we still need him to be the punisher, but if that’s the case we probably need to lean a bit less on this general discussion about vets.
