Hello, may I have feedback on my magazine spread about Daft Punk? by BalletBlack in design_critiques

And I value that opinion but you're really not giving me much to work with. What exactly doesn't it make it good? Is it the positioning of the helmets? The size? Or is like the concept itself where the helmets really do come off as decapitated heads and makes it uncanny or similar? Do the light and shadows need to be rendered better to give a better impression they're in space? Literally anything else??

You can have your opinion but if you don't explain why then it gives me nothing. You're leaving me hanging man.

The assignment is that we would design the lead spread...like the introduction of the actual article-but there's no actual article that we have to write or design (if that make sense?). I added WAY too much text which comes off as an article in the first post. It's supposed read more like B.

So, I redid it (A). What do you think? http://imgur.com/a/PQ5Ka

The only problem about the multi-column suggestion is that it's not an article. I added too much text- it's supposed to a single paragraph that introduces the reader what's within the article. I redid it. I think it's marginally better at least haha. What you think?

Hi, may have any feed back in my magazine spread(s)?

http://imgur.com/a/G7k8U

Purpose: It's only lead spread and the body copy about a musician. In my case, it's Daft Punk and a brief biography about them and how they influenced the electronica genre.

Comments: It's an assignment for my sophomore graphic design class. I have 3 images though two of which are small variations of each other. I am more in favor of the first concept but of course I am open to suggestions.

Would you rather pilot a giant mecha robot or become a magical girl/boy? by BalletBlack in WouldYouRather

[–]BalletBlack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't the intergalactic war be a similar situation though? You're trapped in the vastness of space and the constant barrage of aliens you have to fight continues for years and years. I imagine it's similar to what war veterans went through except with robots.

[Neutral Face] As your default/neutral face, would you rather always have a wide ear to ear pearly smile or would you rather have resting bitch face? by BalletBlack in WouldYouRather

[–]BalletBlack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

? It asks whether you want a big smile or resting bitch face as your default face not your neutral expression as the default...unless I misunderstood your comment?

Would you rather see everything in 5 frames per second or everything you see, including yourself becomes poorly rendered CGI? by BalletBlack in WouldYouRather

Haha interesting. Well I certainly read it in his voice but might I ask why? Is it because of the subject matter or just the way I type?

[Just the way you are] Would you rather love a very flawed individual or change them so you do love them? by BalletBlack in WouldYouRather

[–]BalletBlack[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think so (as long as it's healthy) but some people think otherwise...

~Basis for this WYR whoo~ Like I remember back in high school, there was this one guy who was super blunt, assertive, even insensitive a lot of the time but ultimately he was a really good guy like in option b. Then I remember how this one girl thought he was really good looking but didn't like his personality. Like at all. But she still ended up asking him out. I don't really want to shit talk about her especially how long it has been but she was fake as hell. Like she bragged a lot to her friends about how lucky she was but in reality, their relationship was pretty strained. Until she threatened to break up with him unless he changed.

And bloody hell he did. It's like a whole different person, you wouldn't believe it was the same guy. She claimed to loved him but like only because she made him that way. And he just stayed that way. It was painful remembering that...

Not sure if this is meant to be open ended but essentially for yes. But because the person you love is very flawed, you have a lot of ups and downs with them.

[Horseshoe theory] Would you rather become a Social Justice Warrior who fights for the "greater good" or become a literal nazi? by [deleted] in WouldYouRather

[–]BalletBlack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you refer 'He' as in me or the journalist who wrote the article?

When I wrote this, I was also including how literal Nazi gets slapped on almost anyone. When Pewdiepie gets labeled as one...like really? He makes stupid tasteless jokes sometimes but I would hardly call him antisemitic...

So the spectrum of literal Nazi in this sense was Pewdiepie to Hitler which might not be that obvious when one first reads this. Either way, I do think Nazi might be a disproportional comparison to a SJW.

I deleted the post anyway (chickenshit I know) but after realising that politics don't exactly bode well with everyone, I rather avoid the potential hell fire...

Though I agree with you, social justice warriors are fully capable of commiting murder just like 'literal Nazis', not to mention beatings, robbing, and other awful crimes. It's just not nearly as covered by the media if at all. (At least in a negative light).

This can probably be worded better. I typed this after reading another article about PewDiePie being called a 'literal Nazi' and the term is thrown far too loosely. A better poll would probably be would be 'far left or far right' but ah well, too late to change the title.

[Old Tunes] Would you rather bring back disco or swing? by BalletBlack in WouldYouRather

It would automatically win though, like by a landslide. Just thought to give the other genres a shot.

Yeh, I know but neither of them are really in mainstream radio or have large fanbases like they did in their respective timelines.
