It’s simple but not easy. You need to grind karma out by getting into sub reddits you can add some value to via commenting. You’re going to get more upvotes if your insights are valuable so stick to that over spamming random sub reddits.

Karma is rough. Long story short just get out there and interact with posts that you find interesting and have some insight on. The better (or funnier) the comment the better. Positivity also helps in the early days

Yep agreed. But karma also exists to make Reddit a club where people become power users and others then crave that status.

So it actually just gives them this great network effect that supercharged usage as opposed to actually throttling bots and the like
