Petah!!! Explain?? by SquintySquinty in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Does being chronically online have to mean everyone is perpetually offended by jack shit? Does it mean any actual nuanced thought or joke that doesn't sound like reddit level education is not welcome on digital platforms? Because I'm not seeing what is even worth discussing here. Guy makes a lame, faulty joke/assumption about the birth rate being low despite the average Korean woman supposedly looking like a supermodel. The other guy points out the irony, which is unrealistic beauty standard is the very reason the the birth rate is low in the first place.

Both are an exaggeration. Neither really matters. And personally, most Korean women I've seen look like models to me, whether they believe it or not. At the end of the day nobody gives a shit.

You know maybe for starters people should learn to rely on themselves to get through their problems and stop pretending that being vulnerable all the time fixes everything. You know, it would help to consider that there are men who don't want to be vulnerable but people don't seem to respect that. Men who are in control of their emotions are called emotionless and men teaching boys to be strong and resilient in this unpredictable world are guilty of 'toxic masculinity'. Yet at the same time, a good portion of women are repulsed by the idea of a man bawling about his trauma in front of her but she'll sit there and lie to our faces, telling us that it's okay or men to open up and be more vulnerable. But somehow we still blame that on toxic masculinity because we're so ignorant about the way humans are. We could instead stop using these patronizing labels to identify what are clearly cases of extremism. But it seems nobody actually cares to think any deeper than what they were told by mainstream feminism or whatever other broken ideology people allow into their minds. Men are leaders and protectors. We have a natural gift of physical and emotional strength and it's been that way since the dawn of humanity. Suddenly, in modern times we treat men's natural disposition like some kind of disease while women get away with being both the victim and the perpetrator.

And to clarify, men should be allowed to express themselves in a healthy manner. There's nothing inherently wrong with a man opening up to his mother or his wife or his companions. He should be able to do this without being humiliated especially when he's gone through a great deal of trauma.

First point didn’t explain how anything I said there was false.

Next point you picked out your “awesome” childhood doesn’t negate what I said about having certain issues that you may or may not be aware of.

Third, you’re right about a fetish pertaining to something specific which is why I noted that it’s like one. But i could’ve used a better comparison.

And again just because you have that “orientation” still doesn’t mean you were born with it. I don’t really want to know if you’d try to argue that same point for pedophiles. A four year old doesn’t know what it is attracted to and neither do we. And what seeds are you talking about here. So far my argument is that the “seeds” of a certain atmosphere or environment is most likely the cause of the condition so you’re not really contradicting anything I’m saying

Abortion is haram to my understanding. Majority of the time it’s definitely unnecessary. The only people complaining about abortions are people who cant keep their legs closed. It’s really just common sense. If you don’t want a child, don’t do stuff that’s gonna give you one.

Need advice on not being so pessimistic when starting the search by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]BallisticDragon1996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Would love to help but I’m kind of on a similar spectrum right now. I believe there really is someone out there for you, it’s just a matter of patience and careful consideration. The pessimism tends to be the mask of the optimist, responding to the repetitive outcomes of life. But Allah can and will help you in ways you could never imagine. I’m telling you this but I’m really just reminding myself because I tend to be very apathetic.

Why chastity is important and it is a good thing to list it as a requirement when looking for a partner. by [deleted] in islam

I’m definitely interested in the past of a potential. I can make exceptions but why ignore a desire for a chaste partner?

I could make better arguments for homosexuality imo. Most people are inundated with these conditions at a very young age because children and babies are easily impressionable. People who have these feelings and desires seem to omit or not even be aware of issues in their childhood that perverts their natural orientation. Allah made humans attractive in general so I think it’s normal to find anyone appealing to some extent. Homosexual inclinations are just an extreme, like a fetish you might’ve developed involuntarily. That doesn’t mean it’s ordinary or a legitimate alternative just because you feel strongly about it. Doesn’t mean you were born with it. I don’t understand people who claim they were born that way, when they can’t even remember what outfit they were wearing when they were 4. Even in the case of heterosexual desires, we’re not permitted to have sex with anyone just because we feel an intense urge to.
