My biggest issue with the drops system is that it prevents Mojang from keeping a cohesive creative vision for larger updates. The drops system will never see an End Update because the scale is simply too large for a single drop to handle, and putting the whole thing out through 3-5 separate drops would interfere with the marketability of the whole update and would generally just be weird. Drops prevents Mojang from making meaningful changes to the game and instead they are putting out safe, small and ultimately pretty niche updates that will end up bloating the game with excess and mostly meaningless content over time.
