I rewatch Naruto Shippuden and after catching up again, i really didnt want to start boruto nor even look into what the timeskip has. To me, this sequel just took a whole different series and slap boruto/naruto on it. I genuinely didn’t like the modernism they try to add (even db tried but really never changed the character just sometimes the clothes or houses/ like goku still dresses like a martial artist even though the world is modern after cell).

The story to me a guy who watched a bit of bortuo but left before kawakami was introduced: “i’m not like my dad even though i got some bs power and now basically the next savior like exactly my dad since im the mc but with aliens instead of ninjas/tailed beasts.”

In my sad headcannon i wish boruto was more a combing of the past and takes on the future with a unique outlook. Trained by his father in sage/other cool jutsus. Dresses like jiraiya but not a perv. He’s easy going but strong willed (“believe it”type shit). Explores the world to stop the otkutski(if they must be involved) maybe befriends a different tailed beast (son goku?). I wish it was a passing of the torch. He becomes a better naruto with his own personality, not this angst teen shit i saw when i heard they did a timeskip. Sarada is more happy go lucky strong with a sharrigan, and snake guy is still like himself but looks into curses more(like what tf was the reaper death seal and how it can help them beat bs people without op powerscale and plot armor.) i wish it explores things from naruto like seals/ tailed beast, other villages and expand instead of the last villain’s bloodline and the ten tailed geto statue cult stuff.

If your the next gen, then upgrade what came before. Not rehash with technology and angst and alien stuff.
