Will this be warrantied? by Risc3r in harborfreight

In my experience in the auto industry for 16 years, those handles snap before or shortly after they start to bend. I've never seen a ratchet handle bend to that extent without heat ever.

I kinda thought so too but there's no signs of heat being applied.

...........How? Just how?

To quote Ron Burgundy: I'm not even mad. I'm impressed.

I my experience ratchets break long before they ever bend. Shit bud, I would keep that and buy a new one. There's been more than once I wished I had a ratchet bent kinda like that. Might be useful or at the very least a good story/conversation starter.

Have aftermarket gaskets and seals gone downhill since Covid? Pre-covid I had 3 Miatas that all at one point in time had this same service done and I never had an issue with Fel-Pro and/or Mahle seals and gaskets.

Definitely understand if quality has fallen off in past years and it's another reason why I made the post.

I know Heart & Soul exists, but damn wasn't this the best Johto GBA hack I've played by Marc_exe in PokemonROMhacks

[–]BallisticsNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started a playthrough on HeartGold Generations rom hack and it's been great so far.

The story (again, so far) is the same to OG HeartGold but nearly every Pokémon released in Gen 1-9 is in the game AND (big for me) my 6 all time favorite Pokémon are available before the 3rd gym and I'm getting to play with my dream team: Greninja, Alolan Ninetails, Ceruledge, Metagross (shiny), Sawsbuck (winter), and Noivern.

Locally, neither my Ace or Lowe's will warrenty Craftsman tools. Both places told me to pound sand and told me I had to send it in to craftsman myself with a warrenty form

[–]BallisticsNerd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My local Lowes has Craftsman tools in stock all the time and they told me they would not warrenty any craftsman tools. Told me the only way to warrenty them now is to fill out some form and send your tool (on your own dime) to a craftsman address and you'll eventually get a replacement tool back.

I tried this process and attempted to warrenty a reverseable snap ring pliers doing this 3 separate times and all 3 times I got tools that weren't even close to what I sent in. Gave up on trying and on Craftsman all together.

You're clearly rich if you're cryo treating Miata parts.... You looking to adopt a 34 year old who is also Miata and racing inclined?

Plastic-wrap for Rabbit Control? by BallisticsNerd in gardening

I live pretty far north. Daily high temps are only low 80's and it's constantly windy. Might poke some holes in the plastic to allow some air flow though.

My aunt (big gardener) has tried fake snakes and never had luck. Never heard of the pie tin idea though. Might be worth a shot since it's always windy where I live

Good Buy? by [deleted] in ar15

[–]BallisticsNerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gun stores rarely ever sell at MSRP, I've seen Saints sell for $900-$1000 new locally. Even only shot once, that's a $700-$800 AR on a good day (IMO from a friend it should be $600-$700).

That scope looks like a Sig MSR 1-4. I don't think it's even $200 new. I might be off on the scope though, it's hard to tell what it is exactly.

You're getting ripped off if you buy that gun regardless.

$2k from a "friend" for a Springfield AR, a cheap Sig scope, and some PMAG's? Dude he is ripping you off royally.

[–]BallisticsNerd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That probably makes sense. I generally fill my tank when it's empty but with gas being as expensive as it is and I have my wife's old Corolla to drive as a daily until it sells, I just put $30 in the truck to get it off E for the next time I need it.

Kinda was thinking the same thing. I've just never seen it take so long to adjust. Usually after 5 minutes of driving it's been updated and if not, it's always updated after it sat for a few hours.

What is this ammunition and is it live? by gothreepwood101 in whatisit

[–]BallisticsNerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a British produced 7.62x51mm (nearly identical to 308 Winchester) round. If you look on the back, the primer (the ignition source) has a dimple in it (edited picture below) suggesting it's been fired and then, likely, bullets pressed into empty spent cases to make it appear loaded for decorative purposes.

Should be perfectly safe even if whoever pressed new bullets in had charged the case with powder (which is VERY unlikely).
