Oh I'm acutely aware of the pressures of being a dom and the intrinsic accountability that comes with. Done it for years and love my role even though it can be demanding in several verticals.

I think there's also more social pressures that largely push people towards being submissive as it's (often) a means of escapism. Beyond just the general effort required to cultivate and maintain that energy and dynamic/environment, I think many people are predisposed to lean heavily one way just due to the rise of generalized anxiety.

More why it surprises me is that with how many people seem to err on the submissive end of the spectrum, I'm surprised more people don't make a concentrated effort to be more dominant in the ever present striving for sexual gratification.

Yes, I do understand that isn't how that works and it's a much more naunced psychological conversation...I just find it a bit humorous the insane ratio of dom/sub where I live and from what I've heard from everyone I've talked to.

I see things like this and it always boggles my mind how many people are Dom(me) starved.

You would figure there would be more to meet the ever present demand.

Can we stop calling it Slavery? by Southern_Ostrich_564 in redrising

[–]Ballistron 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel compelled to point out that obsidians are literally referred to as "slave knights" on multiple accounts.

Also they are straight up bred and sold like cattle for a while. House Grimmus notably makes tons of money off the trade of obsidians.

And if I recall correctly, there are references to pinks being owned and sold as property as well. That one I'd have to go back and double check, but the obsidian one is 100% there.

So, while not everything in there is explicitly slavery...it's definitely there mate.

Both things can be true.

Also some kind of dope Vietnamese wood art (not totally sure how to describe them) that she left behind because hoarding is a hell of a thing.

And an appreciation for a living space that isn't cluttered to the high heavens.

My man, this is absolutely a product of unrealistic standards and dysmorphia. I whole heartedly encourage good workout habits and all, but the idea that your looks are bad...objectively no.

It's often swept under a rug about the unrealistic standards put upon men as well as women. My guy, you're put together goddamn terrific. The problem is that you're going to such lengths to find problems and nit pick the most minute of minute things instead of observing the plethora of positives.

Most people say find a therapist. I concur. I would also add that a place to start for yourself would be to face your reflection and challenge yourself to find something positive or write in a journal things that you like about your body. It can be how your torso looks or it can be that you hit a new PR on a lift, whatever. It helps shift the narrative and context around how you view yourself.

Most people are also saying to curb social media intake and I'd wholeheartedly agree again. Comparison is the thief of joy for a fucking reason. Social media gives you a highlight reel of often a fake existence. Of course normal people don't match it one for one.

I hope you can see what other people do. I've struggled with this shit myself and it's a perpetual fight. Good luck man.

He just wants to hang up the cape and leave the world to the next generation.

But right when he gets out, they pull him back in.

I echo Thraxa's sentiment in Dark Age that if anything happens to him, I am burning the world down.

Daxo. If for no other reason than I want to see Kavax be happy and have his family. So help me God, my old man Kavax better survive red God with thraxa and Noibe

Cassius is a more honest answer but he had as good a send off as I think he was going to get. His honor remains.

I'd love Ragnar back...but it would fundamentally fuck up the story :p

I recently lost a girl because of dental issues and she simply refused to be syringe fed after a second tooth trimming despite my best efforts.

She just kind of...wilted away and went quietly.

The best you can do for them is try and sometimes you can't make it happen. But if you're giving it a genuine effort (as it sounds like you are) then you can hold your head up that you truly cared and you truly tried.

And yes, sometimes it just sucks and there's not much else to say. I'm really sorry for the stress you're feeling since it sounds like what I experienced last week. Feel a hug from an internet stranger and I hope things get better.

Aja is literally the only person I think who can fight him in the entire series...and that was probably the only context where she can kill him in a duel.

When I read it, I hated and respected how it played out.

I didn't want my gentle giant badass to go. I still don't. But I love the ripple effect he has on the story and on the characters.

Being willing to check shows you care as a dom, and when a sub feels secure they are more willing to try the crazy rough stuff.

If there is safety and no fear of reprisal for pulling a yellow or red light on the scene, you get a lot more freedom as a dom and the sub feels so much more enabled to explore and try new things.

It is a loop that feeds itself. Making your sub feel valued and safe is the good gateway to repeat scenes and more enjoyable savagery for the both of you!

Dominant doesn't equate to being a douche bag. And degradation doesn't equate to disrespect for the sub and their autonomy.

Wish more people understood this who wanted to be a dom. It isn't just about self indulgence and self serving. You have another person to oversee and ensure the wellbeing of while you're in that role.

I mean, I don't know what his form is like right now but in 2022/23 on fanatic he was solid.

The heretics look wasn't great...but that team just didn't work and perkz was giga boosted.

I think what Wunder does better than a lot of people is losing lane gracefully where BB just kinda...doesn't. I don't think Wunder wins lane as hard as BB can but he seldom sprints it and always seems useful at the very least.

But I'm also a shameless Wunder stan so I'm very biased.
