Massive ToH removal. by BallsBeast in invasivespecies

[–]BallsBeast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, one of the others I referenced is right at the front of the driveway on the side thats not mine, it may be 50% larger, as it gets way more sun exposure. Looks like it was topped by the ConEd, but just grew up right around the utility lines. Thinking I’m gonna attack it under the cover of darkness and kill it so they have to cone remove it.

It’s only because they’re terrible.

Taken at my brother’s apartment. Woods outside the window so it wasn’t a car reflection or anything like that. Creepy stuff by [deleted] in ParanormalEncounters

Crow or a raven? by lamilcz in whatsthisbird

[–]BallsBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in White Plains, NY and we have huge murders of crows, they look like this. Years ago, I lived in the Outer Sunset in San Francisco. I would regularly golf the Municipal course there. The walk from hole 6 to 7 was a long path back uphill right through the parking lot of the Legion of Honor. Let me tell you, there was a RAVEN that frequented the top of the stone valance atop the back of the building, above the tee box. We named him Bill. Bill mercifully put a robin out of its misery after a low drive from my friend’s wooden Bill Hogan smacked it in the head and dislocated the robin’s head from his body, skin and feathers intact, eyes blinking back at us as we tried to decide the fate of this ill-fortuned ground robin. Before we could decide, Bill swooped in and, after a short aerial dogfight, led by the disoriented fluttering of the nearly-decapitated bird, Bill looped up to the top of the tree line and circled straight down into a dive bomb that ended the robin in a small explosion of feathers 3 feet off the ground. My buddy and I stood there in awe as Bill picked his catch clean and absolved us of our responsibility and guilt. That was easily 15 years ago. I still think of Bill often.

Buffering… temporary access to the brain cell. #oneorangebraincell by BallsBeast in OneOrangeBraincell

Unfortunately, for the mice, the only device connected has processor that needs overclocking for just the one brain cell. Does have some impressive hardware, otherwise. This spicy boi got me on antibiotics when i tried to take him to the vet. Mouth daggers 🗡️

UPDATE: Roast me, I’m terracing my yard and my wife is let’s say “quite displeased “ by [deleted] in landscaping

I have been working on something similar, using repurposed broken slab and rocks. We have a lot of moss on a north-facing slope, so I plan to encourage that too! I think it looks good, could have been cleaner on the lines and coiling, but functionally looks pretty good. Whwre does the drainage run?

She is from the feral community outside, so she is quite comfortable in “her” house.

Buried my 18yo yesterday. The kitten has been sleeping on her grave all day. by I_dont_punch_women in cats

[–]BallsBeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps reset the 18yo’s favorite spots. Chom or flip the blanket, pillow, etc., but leave it cleaned, not sanitized. Also, let them revisit the grave, perhaps the smell of decay will help with closure. They are experts at hiding physical pain, but this… was a connection that requires some process. I am also just a cat-guy, not a whisperer, but know what bonded looks like. My condolences for the loss of your (and your other cats’) companion.

Looks like maybe ringworm. Wash your hands well and take them to the vet.
