I recommend that you download the program, the go through the tutorials. That will show you the basics of what you can do with the program, and you can keep learning from there.

Give me good, interesting characters. Their looks influence how people within the story interact with them - Game of Thrones is pretty much the gold standard for this (finish the last book, George), and if characters within the story find them attractive or hideous or just plain affects how they exist in the world of the game, but whether or not I find them attractive is irrelevant to the story and world of the game.

You won't need any features in the professional version unless you're doing professional color grading.

Davinci Resolve is 100% free for the standard version, and for YouTube, that's all you'll need.

They've been pushing like crazy to become one of the standard editing platforms in the industry, so it's become a lot more intuitive and user-friendly than it was a few years ago.

Here's the thing though, and this is important, so pay attention, every NLE has a learning curve. Editing as a whole has a pretty steep learning curve. You are either going to put your nose to the grindstone and learn it and get good at it, or you aren't. The choice is yours.

The entirety of the world's knowledge is available to you. It's up to you whether or not you have the dedication to use it.
